Does anyone have any experience returning an item to ULTA that came with a GWP? Their website says the GWP must accompany the item for a refund, but if I no longer have it, will they not take it back at all or will I only get store credit? Anyone know?

If I remember correctly, I think you'll get the refund *minus* the assigned value of the GWP, but I could be wrong (you may get store credit). This is one of the things I prefer Sephora for, if you get something from Ulta during a points promotion or GWP, you need to be sure you want/love the product or hold onto the GWP until you are sure, which is annoying. And with points, if you need to exchange, you lose the multiple points!

They've never asked me to return the GWP when I've returned things.

I'm so pissed. In the Garden is the only one I wanted, and it's not online anymore, at all. Not "out of stock." Just gone. So I went to the store today RIGHT when they opened, and they had 4 In the Moments and about 9 In the Lights, and nothing else. The woman said they're (stila? ulta?) is replacing the palettes with the new ones so that's why there aren't very many. Don't effing advertise a sale for all four palettes if one of them has been completely and permanently removed from your in-store and online inventory, you jerks.
I was really upset about this, too. In the garden was the one I wanted the most. I also wanted in the light and in the know to a lesser extent, but they were both gone by the time I checked the website this morning, and I had to go to work, so I couldn't check my store. =[

Same thing with In the Know, which I'd been eyeing forever. I actually went into my local store because Ulta.com didn't even have it on the site any more -- and all they had locally was In the Moment. ITM is admittedly pretty, but it just wasn't the one I wanted, darnit.

I cant wait for Monday's beauty steal... 50% off Juice Beauty skincare sets (online only). I've been meaning to try them for so long!

Thanks for your help and letting me know your experiences. I will cross my fingers and try the return.

I exchanged a perfume yesterday at Ulta, and I completely forgot that I was given a weekender rolling duffle bag when I bought it on my birthday!  The cashier asked me if I had the bag, I said no that I forgot (and she believed me), which was lucky because I'm sure that is what people say even if they did't forget, but she said no problem.  I told her that I was sure those same bags were out on the floor for sale for $9.99 and offered to pay for it, she declined.  I offered to her that I would return it to the Ulta by my place later the same day, and she still said no worries.  Well, I tried. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />  She didn't seem worried about it at all.

I think I posted my shopping trip to Ulta on the enablers thread, or the Holiday sets thread...but clearly I didn't post it here LOL!  I returned a perfume, and bought Tarte's Away Oui Go! the Exposed pack, and Rainforest After Dark, along with a package of scented lotion wipes (ok...this type of product is BRAND NEW to me but oooohhhhhh soooooo excited to try them!).  I didn't get the perfume during bonus point days, and yesterday wasn't a bonus point day for me either so it was the perfect time to use my $64 I had in points.  So after the perfume cost, and the points, I paid less than $20 out of pocket!  I also added a pic of my other Tarte orders from HauteLook, Ulta, & Sephora...so these pics are of the event purchases, then the other Tarte goodies I received by mail.

Ulta samples... ugh.... I thought I'd try the "skincare" sample pack with this order, since

my last "variety" sample pack was all foils and cards... no better luck... I received 3 mini-foils of Cotz sunscreen, Olay BB cream and Murad Anti-aging Moisturizer.... has anyone had any recent luck with Ulta samples?

Actually, I must be lucky because the 'miscellaneous' samples from Ulta have always been good for me, and I've usually gotten more than 3.

Also, more love for Ulta -- I didn't get the 5x points the other day for a BareMinerals purchase, so I just wrote to them. I spent $20, got $25 as Platinum, and they gave me another 300 points. O.O

I love me some Ulta.

My "variety pack" sample from a recent order included shampoo and conditioner foils from the Alterna Bamboo line, an Eva NYC foil of Hungry Hair oil, and...I can't remember the third, if there was one. Do they always send three? It must have not been too memorable, lol.

I'm still debating on buying the bare minerals items I've been thinking I really should have in my stash, simply because I have a 5x bonus period right now for that brand only...I have until the 20th to decide.  I'm supposed to be on a no-buy...but...if I'm the only one to answer to...who is to say that I have to stick to my no-buy???  LOL!

Then I think oh well do I really want to spend at least $50 to get free shipping...and I remember that shipping is free right now too!  Then I look at my cart, and realize that it really doesn't matter because I have well over $50 in there anyway, and those Ulta lip crayons on sale are SCREAMING at me...plus I have two $5 off any Ulta brand purchase of $15 or more...not to mention the Neutrogena lip crayons that are seemingly PERFECT for my skin tone...and the free cosmetic bag with purchase doesn't make those any less appealing...

Someone with a rational mind tell me I should really empty my 16 item cart...really...just dump and do. not. submit.  Christmas is coming...my son's birthday is coming...my son's wedding reception is coming...but but but...OH! I need a shower cap!  What woman should be without a shower cap?  Heading back over to see if Ulta has some...surely they do....

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention Jeunesse Montagne face masks!  I only have 500 face masks but NONE of them are from this guy! Hello!?  Yep...need some of those FOR SURE...

how do you get the 5X points on Bare Minerals? I am a Platinum member but I dont have that. Thanks.

Honestly I have the In the Garden palette and I hadn't really used it, but I have been for the last 2 weeks and I'm actually disappointed with it.  The colors look sort of muddy and aren't as pigmented as I would like them to be.   So don't feel bad about missing it; there are better options out there.

As for the points thing, Ulta seems to be really random about who gets bonuses on what and when.  I'm also platinum and it seems like a total crapshoot.

Definitely a roll of the dice with who gets a perk when at Ulta, which I find totally bizarre.  I was a little upset when I used my 3X points and then the very next day (I shopped the last day of the 3x points promotion) I got an email for 10X points (one day only!!!).

Now I have over 2000 points (I've been saving for over a year and I restrain myself from shopping unless I have 20% off, 3x points, or something like that), but I'm saving these for my Birthday in October, and I'm going to treat myself to some new Becca stuff that my Ulta just started carrying.

I got an email today telling me today is the last day for 5x points on bareminerals, and the subject was "OOPS, WE'RE SORRY!"  ???

I'm sorry - I don't think I responded...a former Ulta manager told me that the email promos have nothing to do with your status (well, the extra incentive ones anyway, like my bonus 5x for bare minerals) and everything to do with how your particular region is selling and where they are in the selling quarter.

So if your region, or district or whatever is down in sales, or is looking like you won't meet your sales quota - then extra incentive emails will go out to try to get you to buy.  Apparently your online orders sync up with your region for overall sales.

That's so crappy and unfair IMO!
