I have fine, long-ish hair and these are just my favourites. My hair is just a bit shorter - I'm due for a haircut in a week; all I've done is trimming the last 3 months, and it's getting too long for my liking. Unfortunately, with my hair texture, I've given up on growing it out very long. Ojon Volumizing set (the home shopping network here often has a hairspray, conditioner & shampoo set on offer, for cheaper than buying in store. QVC/HSN might have something similar if you're in the US.) TiGi Catwalk Root Boost hairspray. Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Harder. Nexxus Volumizing Mousse (best mousse I've tried!) Also, a rattail comb, and Comare Mark V brush from Sally's are always good for adding lift and a bit of height at the roots.

I'm really enjoying Paul Mitchell root lifting spray. It gives my hair a fuller appearance.

Applying castor oil to your hair is supposed to make it fuller.  Lots of hair products contain castor oil.  You can get them at E. Indian groceries as a hair oil product.

Kerastaze has a volumising shampoo that is the best i've tried. But I would also suggest you trim the ends before they get brittle and start breaking. Use a comb to detangle, it's gentler on the volume than a brush. Combing with your head down helps a little, as well as blowdry the roots just a bit to make sure they're not stuck together or on your scalp. You can also change the side of your part.

You can also backcomb the crown, do that with a big round brush (i got this from Kandee Johnson, and it works !).

If you notice extra oil on the roots, but the rest of your hair is fine, do a dry shampoo with clay or cornstarch (wait a few minutes then brush away, you can use the blowdryer too).
