What kind of razor does everyone use?  Ive used mens and womens razor and nothing seems to get the hair off my legs, keep from cutting me, or razor burn?  Men's razors do seem to help a little bit more but I don't know.  I just used a cheap 1 blade bic women's razor and my legs are burn, hair still there and cut. I use sensitive skin womens cream.  And the hair on my legs is very fine and I'm 23 years old and have shaved since I was 11 or so years old.

Any advice? And any home remedies for razor burn?

Its not so much the razor that makes a difference when I shave my legs, as it is how often I shave my legs. If I shave daily then I am always left with stuble, but if I shave every few days when the hair has had a chance to grow in a bit then I get a nice smooth shave.

If you are cutting yourself then use a womens razor as opposed to a mens razor. I believe it is shick for women that have a small wire gaurd over the razor to prevent nicks and cuts.

I don't have any home remedies for razor burn but Nivea after shave cream for men helps with razor burn. You can find unscented and sensitive skin versions of after shave creams.

Cheap disposable razors are not sharp enough...that's why they are cheap.  Because they are dull, you will cut yourself, get razor burns and then not get a smooth save to boot!  I've noticed the difference between a 3 blade razor and a 5 blade razor as well.  There's also a difference between the Walmart brand 5 blade and a Gillette Fusion Power - big difference between that and a 3 blade razor and definitely miles away from a 1 blade.

Have you tried those hair buffers?  They work... you just have to be gentle and not over-do or that'll give you burns too.  Waxing is an alternative and so is epilating and No!No! too.

I use Venus embrace and Satin care shave gel. Afterwards, I apply body lotion  Makes my legs suuuuper smooth! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I find Venus embrace much better than even men's razors (which many women seem to prefer). :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Let your legs heal before shaving again, if you keep stripping off the surface layer of skin it will remain irritated. IMO a good quality Gillette with three blades and replaceable heads gives a much closer, gentler shave than disposable Bics. Do not use a foam/ gel/ cream with any drying ingredients such as sulphate surfactants or alcohol - cheap hair conditioner actually works well!! Be sure to rinse the blades frequently throughout the shave because if they get clogged with hair and product you will not get a good result. Finish with a gentle body lotion that respects the skin's protective acid mantle and contains proven healing ingredients such as calendula with allantoin or aloe vera with unrefined shea butter. No fragrances, silicones, petrolatum or mineral oil.

I use a Venus and SkinMate shave gel in raspberry rain.  But I have found that I like Avon Skin So Soft hair removal cream works best.  It dissolves hair so that when it grows back, it won't feel stubbly.  If you use a razor, then the hair is cut off leaving a dull end.  This is why your legs get prickly the day after shaving.
