Haha, it's not silly. At least not to me. Heck, did you see my most recent post in this thread? I posted a goofy picture and everything! I was super excited to get Rouge. I know what you mean though, yeah, it's kind of funny because we didn't really have to do anything, but it's like leveling up in a video game or something. You get the card and the lipstick and the perks and the .... enigma is now yours! Heheh. At least that's how I feel!

So I've never followed or read any of the VIB Rouge threads because I never thought I'd even come close but apparently I have been lying to myself because according to my Sephora acct, I'm 134 away from VIB rouge. I'm sure this has been answered before but what's the welcome gift when you become VIB Rouge and is it "worth" it? Thanks ladies.

Totally not worth it. Free shipping is very nice I won't lie, but for me that's the only real benefit to rouge.

The gift when you Rouge for the first time is still the mini Bite lipstick, at least it was a few weeks ago when I hit Rouge.
Of course its not "worth it" just for the gift, or really any of the "perks"--if you're spending money you wouldn't otherwise just to make Rouge. If you're going to be spending the money anyways then hey, free shipping is super and yes the tiny lipstick is adorable and it's a pretty fabulous color. But don't buy things you wouldn't buy otherwise, just to make Rouge. Most of the ladies on here seem to agree that thus far it hasn't been so special as all that.

I became Rouge a few weeks ago and received the mini Bite lipstick. There are supposed to be events but I'm new so I haven't attended and can't judge. It sounds like the perks they talk about aren't happening or are overrated. I think the free shipping will probably be the best part. I can't tell you how often I've sat around with a $40 item in my cart waiting until I really wanted something else so I wouldn't have to pay shipping.
I wouldn't make an active effort to be Rouge but if I was pretty close then I would put myself over the edge just to get the shipping. Whether or not 134 is close is totally subjective. It was $60 for me and I decided I just had to get the Ambient Blush Palette, so that worked in my favor.

That happened to me last year. I was $60 from being Rouge and forgot your spending rolled over in the new year. I could have kicked myself. Honestly, If I'd already spent $800+ I'd spend the extra $134 perks be damned. It's a crappy feeling to know you spent so much, and got so close but didn't make it.

I had a similar experience but I remembered they reset at the year so the end of December I placed a $150 order. This year I already hit Rouge lol so no agoNizing about the decision to splurge for the level.
Ha ha, what was sad was the fact that I came so close last year made me determined to make it this year! Oh my gosh, it's not a competition or anything, LOL. Competitive makeup shopping, now that's a terrifying thought... :lol:

I couldn't believe how quickly the $20-30 purchases I made added up! I re-rouged much more quickly than last year. Other than that the benefits are minimal over VIB.

The second half of the survey dealt with potential future perks that the company is considering (i.e. Use 1000 points to get 20% off a purchase) or making the VIB sale 20% for rouge and 15% for VIB, make chic week 15% off for rouge, 10% off for VIB. I placed an order during the 20% off sale and it took them 2 weeks to ship it. I wasn't really worried about it because I assumed they had a large volume of orders due to the sale but they emailed me regarding the wait on the order and gave me 500 beauty points. I'm up to almost 1000 points now and haven't been saving them that long!

Can I just say I think it's kind of bull that they are not adding % rewards for Rouges, just making the VIB's less. Like, really, Sephora? How about Rouges get 25% off and VIBs still get 20%. ARGH!
I didn't want to make my previous post too long, but honestly, I thought the exact. Same. Thing. What are they even thinking?? In my opinion, I rated highly getting cash back or % off or getting to put together your own 500 point perk or getting a free full size product as the best perks. I don't need VIBs to get less perks to feel special. Sephora made the promise that rouge would be about even better perks. I'm over the 100 point perks, there have been very few lately that I am interested in. With the 4x points promotions, it's getting too easy to rack up major points, and I feel like I get NOTHING for them.
