Hahah still laughing about "competitive makeup shopping" scary indeed! I will say that once you become rouge, the free shipping makes it so easy to "pull the trigger" on smaller purchases. I couldn't believe how quickly the $20-30 purchases I made added up! I re-rouged much more quickly than last year. Other than that the benefits are minimal over VIB.
I'm already seeing that's going to happen to me. It is so much easier to buy things when I don't need to worry about shipping minimums.

I was wondering if Sephora has considered offering a free no minimum shipping option (but at a slower speed) to the regular VIBs. Or maybe drop the minimum to $25 for them. It seems genius to me and like they would get a lot more purchases. Then again, they're a big company and I assume they've done some sort of cost-benefit analysis.

I didn't want to make my previous post too long, but honestly, I thought the exact. Same. Thing. What are they even thinking?? In my opinion, I rated highly getting cash back or % off or getting to put together your own 500 point perk or getting a free full size product as the best perks. I don't need VIBs to get less perks to feel special. Sephora made the promise that rouge would be about even better perks. I'm over the 100 point perks, there have been very few lately that I am interested in. With the 4x points promotions, it's getting too easy to rack up major points, and I feel like I get NOTHING for them.
I agree! The Urban Decay palette they had recently was the only thing that has caught my eye in a few months.

Yeah, I'm not sure how making VIB worse is a perk for Rouge. I would love to be able to put together our own point perks or use points for $ off a purchase though.

Agreed with that. I wouldn't try to make VIB worse. I would just make Rouge better. I like the idea of using points for a percent off or $ off the purchase too.

I wish I had kept the email with the original link to the survey...did no one else get this survey??? I usually assume that most of the MUT people here would have taken the survey if they had received the email.  I'm just surprised it wasn't sent to anyone else here on MUT.  I put the email in my trash folder, which is emptied every few days, so I don't have the email.  I went to my browser history, and when I go to the page, it just says the survey is now closed. http://opinions.sephora.com/survey/selfserve/2008/141109

I wasn't promised anything for responding (not even a chance to win a gift card in a drawing or anything) and I didn't enter any of my personal information, just clicked through from the email.  Hopefully Sephora will follow through and give us better perks, but I feel like we've been saying that for years now, haha.

I will say that I do very much appreciate the free shipping on any purchase.  But if you look at this forum and others, you will see why its not economically feasible for them to offer free shipping to everyone (all BI).  I mean, the number of people who make a dozen separate orders of $1-5 worth of stuff to maximize 3 free foil samples is astonishing to me.  I will break up orders into smaller increments occasionally (its pretty rare, and almost always because Hazmat shipping for aerosols and nail polishes increases shipping time for those items), and I understand that there are some people who are doing charity works and the extra samples go to good use.  But I really worry about the amount of extra packaging that is being wasted on all these orders, the extra manpower that goes into making these extra packages, the extra fuel that goes into transporting these extra packages.  And I know that as someone who orders online that I contribute to more packaging, more transportation costs, more manpower costs but I do my best to be conscientious.  There are retailers (i.e. Nordstrom) that offer free shipping on any purchase from any customer and offer similar 3 free samples with any beauty purchase.  But for whatever reason, I've never seen someone come on MUT and say they ordered 10 $5 boxes from Nordstrom.

I checked out the sephora codes thread but I am just checking to see if there are any good rouge codes out there

@@wels5711 I think the only one still working is rougehair and it's just ok w/$35 purchase requirement.

Also try BUXOMROUGE, ROUGEAMORE, and CARTROUGE, all with $35 min. ROUGELOVE still works as well but has a $50 min.
CARTROUGE didn't work last time I tried, but I am not sure if it is because it is a single use coupon or out of stock. The error just said "cannot be applied to your cart".

I saw someone on BeautyTalk had redeemed it pretty recently so it seemed worth trying, but sadly I ran through most of the Rouge codes in pretty short order once I could use them, so I can't test them myself.

I called about the $25 gift card and the lady wasn't very helpful I have about $300 left to spend this year to make Rouge again for next year and after being Rouge in 2013 and 2014 I don't think it's worth my money we spend an extra $650 than VIB and for what??? a tiny red lipstick or nail polish??? I know this sounds like a bratty post (#firstworldproblems) but I figure ya'll were the only people who would understand

@@wels5711 I wasn't planning to rerouge this year, the one and only perk is shipping and an occasional promo (although if it wasn't for MUT I wouldn;t even know about most of them!!).

I set up multipual accounts to just vib a few times instead, but I had to call CS because of a issue  they saw that and combined them  :scared: Oh well I guess free shipping is ok, but I get that from Nordstroms/Nemans/Bergdorfs exc....

Yes, I concur with this whole post! There are lots of Rouge shoppers on this board that Sephora loses money on. I know Rouge is for Top Spenders but the sense of entitlement a lot of people have over it is mind boggling.

I do think there are Sephora practises I would change...EX: allow people to maybe use two instead of just one code per order. This is esp irksome as a Canadian because, for example, the $25 cards came to us in the form of a discount code, not gift card. So while I am very happy about getting my order for $25 cheaper than it normally would be, I would also like to use a Rogue code on it too.

Seriously! Stuff disappears so quickly. I see posts on other threads about how non-Rouge can use the Rouge codes. I don't hold that against the customers, I just wish Sephora would do more in the way of ensuring the codes actually felt like perks for Rouge-rs.

I re-Rouged without knowing I would. Always hate that feeling when you realize you've spent $1,000 at Sephora in the last 12 months (errr, 11 bc I hit rouge again in Nov)  :hehe:

How do you know you've re-Rouged? I don't see anything saying how much I need to spend, like I did when I was VIB, just that I'm Rouge until 12/15.

I'm about $250 from making rouge for 2015, but I don't think I am going to really try for it. The benefits just haven't been worth it at all for me. Plus, the free shipping just encourages me to buy things I don't need, and I am trying to cut back on my beauty spending for next year. I hope that for everyone else who re-rouged they start including some perks that are actually worth it!
