Yeah reading it out loud it seemed ridiculous to me for even considering it. I wish they would cut it out with the bronzer!! I wouldn't think twice if instead of the giant bronzer they had two new colors.
The constant inclusion of Laguna (which is waaay to dark for me) is the reason I've always avoided the NARS palettes before this - but I really want those two Final Cut blushes, and I don't own Deep Throat or the highlight shade, so I figured I should go for it. But yeah, not keen on the bronzer.

Deluxe UD liner in Plushie with the code GLIDE
This might sound horrible, but I'm really incredibly grateful for all the ladies that post about various codes here..... So that i can just log in here and place orders as i see the codes i like, rather than hunting for codes myself lol. So thanks ladies, i really do appreciate it :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So I picked up the blush palette as well as an Armani Si gift set. I love that fragrance, and since I asked my hubby for an actual camera for Christmas (I'm at my wit's end with my stupid phone) I figured I would decline to ask for my usual high-end fragrance (this year I wanted Guerlain Tonka Imperiale, which will get saved for our anniversary) and go with a mid-market scent instead. Ehhh... when I told him, he didn't seem very pleased that I was buying my own Christmas presents, ooops.

Well, no matter. I'll convince him that I will forget about it if he hides it until December, and he'll believe me because my memory is really that short. But I hate surprises, so I would totally just gift myself a Sephora GC if I could!

But gosh, I love Si and I thought the set was a bomb deal, especially with the 20% off! Now I need to start making my lists of items that will need to be replenished next month. I already know I need another Radiant Creamy Concealer...

ETA: A GC is a gift card... a CG, however, means nothing and I made myself very confused.

@@Shalott have you ever tried any of the other high-end Guerlain scents?? There are three I'm trying to decide between and I know our tastes are different  but I'd still like to know if you've tried them :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Guerlain Cuir Beluga

Guerlain Cruel Gardenia

Guerlain Double Vanille

Also, this is going to reveal me as being unsophisticated, but I've never thought to sample those before. Does Nordstrom/Neiman let you sample them?

@@ohsailor I've tried all three! In order, my favorites:

1. Cruel Gardenia - It's a sexy, sweet floral, a bit too floral for my tastes, but definitely a nice one!

2. Cuir Beluga - a lovely combination of fresh and sultry, a really lovely scent.

3. Double Vanille - I like everything about this but for the benzoin that doesn't work with my chemistry. It's a gorgeous floral oriental, and I love how the sweet vanilla base doesn't take away from the florals.

Honestly I love every scent in the  L'Art et la Matiere collection by Guerlain, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them! If you're still having trouble, go by the Guerlain store at the Palazzo and have them make you some samples! Or, I go by there all the time, and I would be happy to ask for you. My Guerlain scents are my joy, so I definitely think more people need to invest in some of the collections! :smilehappyyes:

I am about as pale as you can get but I am able to use the Laguana as a contour under my cheekbones.  If I apply it lightly it actually works really well.  But I agree with the over inclusion of Lagauna (and Orgasm).  Seems like one or both is in every palette.  I have multiples of both just from NARS GWP and Sephora sets.

I have a coupon and I'm debating the following:

  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (already own the single of Diffused Light and love it)
  • Kat Von D Monarch Palette (someone else posted on this and I love the colors and the reviews seem great)
  • Sephora Favorites Perfume Sampler (mostly so I can then use the scent coupon for Tom Ford Black Orchid unless something else catches my fancy - a good portion of these scents are duplicates of the Bottled Dreams set so I've already tried them)
I can't justify more than one of these (even with the discount) and am struggling to decide!

I am usually in the next to lightest shade in most foundations (light, but not fair) and I can easily use Laguna as bronzer or contour (obv two different things). To me it looks totally different on skin vs in the pan. I was glad that NARS didn't include orgasm this time around, and if you actually use the palette for travel it's useful to have the bigger bronzer. I was totally happy when they released this palette, especially the shades used, and I wasn't going to get a NARS holiday palette until I actually saw this one. However, if you dislike Laguna, this is a terrible buy really, so I can understand passing on it.

So I went in my sjcp and they didn't have the UD bonus yet. But while I was there I checked out the sale section where they had a lot of the old Kat von d lip products. As I opened the lipstick boxes most were sweating and the stains clearly had water in them. This can't be normal, right?

I don't think so I wouldn't buy them like that.  The problem at the Sephora I go to is that most of the items get tried and its hard to find one not swatched  :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Just curious, is the sale section in your SiJCP (and regular sephora, while we're on the topic) clearly marked? I swear the sales section at the ones I frequent float around the store and are always super difficult to find to the point that I just give up looking for them lol

That's exactly how all the clearance KVD products are at my JCP! I was looking at some liquid lipsticks and they all looked weirdly separated.

It must have been they way they stored them when they were pulled from the shelves - I actually just bought a whole grip of the Foiled Love lipsticks for $7 and while the boxes were a bit beat up, the product inside was pristine! No marks or discoloration and sweating.

I frequent 4 stores total, 2 Sephoras and 2 SJCP.

1 Sephora has always had them in the same spot no guessing when I walk in the door.

1 Sephora for the past month I couldn't find it so I asked a SA and she was really nice explaining the store hit the next sales tier level and at that volume they discontinue their sales section.

1 SJCP floats around the store and is aggravating and 1 is consistently in the same location.

Omg! I have a few of her liquid lipsticks and love them so I bought some on sale and when I got home, I tilted one the wrong way and it leaked out!! I'm like wth?! I doubt I can return them.

Oh, pshaw. I totally can, I will probably be at the Palazzo sometime this week so I'll get them and then let you know!

But back to NARS - I didn't really make it clear maybe, but I have tried Laguna, and from actually putting it on my face and looking like a horrific clown no matter how much I blended, this is how I know it is too dark for me. But I am terrifying vampire-ishly pale so it's no big deal. I actually can wear it during the summer when I self-tan, but I wouldn't have normally bought the product. BUT when taken into account the four blush shades, plus the bronzer I still think the palette is a good deal, especially with the discount! ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
