Has anyone tried any of the NUDESTIX products? I was wondering how their concealer pencils compared to Urban Decay's.

For those of y'all with perfume allergies - look out for natural brands rather than synthetic. A lot of perfumes drive my mom crazy and also a lot can bug me too. I'm good as long as they have natural ingredients. Atelier Cologne is a great example of a non-synthetic fragrance company. Love them.My sisters have always had this problem, too (headaches with scents). It only happens to me with REALLY strong perfumes. I'm sorry /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
I use a finishing powder brush for mine. I was going to buy the brush they made for it, but at that price I figured I had something that would work for them anyway. The brush I have is puffy, but not too puffy, and the bristles are medium-stiff. I still want to check out the brush they make for it to see what qualities it has (how soft the bristles are, etc). I apply mine all over my face and neck /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
I used the 10% off code to buy mine, but the price still hurt. Maybe wait until November and you can get it for 15 or 20% off?
I'll let you know what I think when I get it!
I say try it out and see how it looks. My grandmother wore some shimmer on her eyes last week at a wedding and looked fabulous (and she's over 80). It's all personal.Ok I hope this isn't an offensive question...it isn't meant to be...but I worry about how I present myself and I only have me, myself, and I (and our limited foray into makeup) to really gauge propriety! Well, and the forums here!!
So, I am 44 and I don't want to wear makeup that is age inappropriate, so I wonder if the meteorites (Holiday is still my #1 choice right now) will be too shimmery for me? I wear shimmer eye shadow quite a bit (in LOVE LOVE LOVE with UD's moondust intergalactica!) and some of my bronzer/highlighter/blushes are shimmery...but I try to tone those a bit with a loose powder over the top.
So that being said, how much shimmer can a 40-something get away with on a daily basis? I work in a business environment...I wish I was a better internet surfer, but I get frustrated trying to find videos on you tube, and you all are so full of info - and always so so so helpful. Seriously, the love on these pages is amazing...I haven't found any other forum where people are so nice. Even the forums on sephora's website are pretty catty.
Thanks to you all for any feedback!!
FYI - My favorite thing to do on Sundays now, is to go through all my stuff, and pick out my makeup for the week! I start with the eye shadow palette, then blush and bronzers, then highlighters, then brushes. I pick out 3-4 lipsticks and have those in my purse. And I always have a mini lashes or flashes in my purse too. The last 2 weeks it was Stila's Soul palette! But in keeping with my own rules, I had to use two completely different color schemes each week - no duplicates! LOL! Yesterday I sampled one of the Away Oui Go take out palettes, and later I stripped down and used Tarte's Amazon Escape palette - those both have blushes too. Today I'm just about to put on my face and head out...I'm trying my Jupiter Ascending palette from Pur Minerals that I bought over Labor day weekend and haven't even swatched yet! And to go with it...one of the blushes in Tartes's Pin Up blush palette that I just received Friday! Here Oui go....weeeeeee!!
I love Bobbi but havent seen the highlighter. Link please?Your order has been confirmed and you will receive an order confirmation email shortly.
OOPS.. i may or may not have ordered the.... Bobbi brown highlight and the new shimmer brick.. haha I have no self control :/
I am a fellow 40 something. I am shimmer reluctant on my face. For me, I want my maturing (love this word) skin to look better than it is but, not draw attention to it. I don't mind a bit of highlighting here or there but, nothing too obvious. For eyeshadows, I am all for a shimmer. But, there are some that make my eyelids look crepey (I do not like this word). In fact, today I dug one out of a Tarte palette because every time I put it on I get ticked off at it.So that being said, how much shimmer can a 40-something get away with on a daily basis? The sample set sent out as a promo earlier this year from Sephora (in the 2 shade) didn't have a strong smell once applied, in my opinion. They did smell strong like french pastel/chalk candies in the container, and smelled lightly when applying, but after a few minutes it didn't really smell on my skin much at all. My YSL and Dior lippies stay more fragranced once applied than this powder, if that helps any in determining scent scale. The swatches make the meteorites a lot more appealing ugh!
Does the scent dissipate after applying it?

it is so prettyyyyy
I haven't tried the concealer pencils or lip/cheek duo pencils yet, but the few reviews of the concealer I've found so far haven't been stellar. They thought it was just okay but not horrible. I do know the pencils are not that big for 24$ range. They are chubby pencils, but not the huge kind.Has anyone tried any of the NUDESTIX products? I've told my mom not to wear fragrance lmao.. and my brother,.. I think they hate me a bit hahahaThe sample set sent out as a promo earlier this year from Sephora (in the 2 shade) didn't have a strong smell once applied, in my opinion. My mom is super sensitive like you are, so I grew up being limited in my own stuff to not affect her so much. I'm sorry you have to hassle with all that stuff! /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> It is noooo fun, that's for sure. As I get older I'm more sensitive to smells too, but nothing as bad as her or you are.
I work in the media /news/television field. ( 20+ years) This is how we do faces. Contour face ( in a E shape) blush on apples of cheeks and highlighter around eyes ,nose in the shape of a G ) . I never wear shimmer eye shadow or glitter eye shadow . But I go heavy on the eyeliner brows and so on. I wear heavy makeup always but my face looks very natural and I always use highlighter because I think I makes me look way younger than my 40s . Shimmer high on the cheek bone reflects light really well both in sunlight and on camera. I have always done this same makeup routine since I was in my early teens. I am one of those people who no one has ever seen without makeup lipstick and so on. I am really pale without in and washed out looking. Just my 2 cents /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />I am a fellow 40 something. I am shimmer reluctant on my face. I think if it looks good and enhances what you want it to enhance, go for it. But, I definitely get what you are saying. I wear more makeup then my friends and I am mostly in casual settings. I go for natural with as much oomph as I can muster without looking like I am trying.
LOL you want to give them to me?? You *might* not like the Meteorites, then- you don't really see them on your face, you just look a little bit better.I tried those, and don't see them on my skin at all. I've tried them on my face alone, over my full makeup, to enhance my facial peaks and valleys...nothing shows. I wanted them to be like the smashbox prism, but it didn't work out that way.
When I use mine, it is with a big fluffy powder brush from Sonia Kashuk, the regular black handle kind-not the special "pretty" ones they put out several times a year. It is really super soft, and gives the perfect amount of product on my face. I believe the brush was about 10-12$.For those of you that have the meteorites, what kind of brush do you use with them? Do you have the pink brush that Guerlain sells separately and markets specifically for the meteorites? I ordered mine last night and they should be arriving tomorrow (love ordering from Sephora...always get my orders so quick). Just was wondering what would be best to use with them.

I've heard mixed reviews on the brush that Guerlain sells. I use a medium size kabuki-style brush. Just make sure that the head of the brush isn't too large, or you will bend the bristles trying to fit the brush into the container. For those of you that have the meteorites, what kind of brush do you use with them? The third sample is a mini UD Revolution lipstick, but I'm not sure what shade. I'm guessing Naked?Looks like the match game has some new codes. These are probably generic:
MG2OH8E Ole Henrikson Eye Gel
MG2AB7V Alterna Bamboo 2 in 1 Volumizer
I didn't get the third code (looks like a mini lippie) before I finally got the 150 point code that I was looking for.
I love their brushes!!Just throwing this out there for ideas.
I own both the Guerlain Meteorites in Clair 02, and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light (which I use everyday).
I loveee the Real Techniques Powder Brush for both products. I own one for each powder lol The brush is so plush and fluffy, I feel like it picks up just the right amount of powder and doesn't feel scratchy on your skin as I've found with some brushes. Ulta carries them fyi =)
