By the way, I just noticed my BI account (as in, not VIB or Rouge) got the Rouge birthday kit with the extra eyeliner. So yet another worthless Rouge "perk," I guess.

I was surprised- I wasn't that into it. I love I Love New York For All (like, a LOT)- and by the way, I think Nirvana Black smells a lot like it, especially when mixed with the White, except more feminine slightly- but I wasn't a fan of ILNY Holidays. It was a little too manly for me, tbh. Then again, I've never been a big fan of Angel, shockingly ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

yep, i believe the next one is in April.

primer: benefit porefessional, benefit that gal, lancome la base,

setting powder: shiseido translucent loose powder

finishing powder: don't really use.... but after reading reviews, swatching stuff in store, etc, etc.. i'm thinking about getting the YSL one. for now, i just use MAC blot powder cause i want to use it up! this is also very good for absorbing oil

setting spray: i use UD all nighter sometimes.

  1.  I haven't heard about the April promotion yet.  I'm sure all the VIB Rouges will begin speculating if there will be different discounts for BI vs VIB vs Rouge.  I think if they continue to disappoint the very vocal Rouge community there may be rioting on MUT!!! haha.

2. Primer: Hourglass Mineral Veil.  Yeah, its pricey, but since I don't prime every day I got the .33oz size for $18, its lasted me 3-4 months so far and I've barely made a dent.  There are samples and 100 point perks of primers All. The. Time.  Test drive a few if you are looking for a different formulation.

Powder: I use Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light on a daily basis, but not to truly set my concealer, more as a finishing powder.  I love this stuff, but I'm sad because I've got serious pan and I don't want to pay for another one.  I'm thinking about getting the NARS pressed setting powder for use under my eyes as a setting powder, but haven't made myself buy i yet.  I have good skin, so I like to wear as little make up covering my face as possible for as long as I can get away with it.

The hourglass powders are great because they look nice on bare skin or over foundations.

As far as I know, the silicone in primers works to smooth over and fill in everything, including your pores.  So basically if you have oily skin with large pores, it will fill in the pores so that your foundation doesn't settle into the pores.  This doesn't really sound to me like the best thing you can do for your skin, but I'm not sure that its THAT bad either.  If your current primer routine is working for your skin (if you don't end up with acne after you use it), then I say to keep going with it.

The only way to tell if a primer will work for your skin is to try it.  I DEFINITELY wouldn't go to bed without thoroughly cleansing my skin after using a primer.  You might even want to use a makeup remover/cleansing balm to be sure all of it is removed.  If you are the type of person who doesn't wash their face each night, a silicone primer might not be for you.

The makeup geniuses change their minds all the time about what good and bad for your skin (1990s: oil free everything!, now: all oil all the time?) so unless your skin is responding poorly to something (breaking out or becoming red and irritated)

I walk to work every day, and I need the UD De-slick setting spray in the summer to keep all my makeup from running off my face.  Yes, it really works to keep your makeup on your face, I have the smaller size because I don't go through it very quickly.  Its not something I use in the winter.  My advice when you're trying a new product that you haven't used yet and might not need every day is to always get the small size even if the bigger one is a better value!!!!

Thanks for the tips!  I have been trying a few and they all feel sort of the same to me!  Except I don't like the Smashbox because it has a gasoline smell to it.  That's why I started looking into ingredients, silicone and such.

I've use a few sample packets of Korres primers and have liked them all very much. For a setting powder I have loved the Laura Mercer pressed powder after I've finished a variation of primers, tinted moisturizers, bb creams, loose powder foundations, and on and on. Lol

Thank you SOOO much for posting about this perk! ~~Was having a very sad no more Sunday football day before I read your post.  I have been holding on to points for ages, hoping that something like this would come along.  No more wasting 500 points on more skincare and makeup that I need like another hole in my head.   The last reward perk that I can actually remember what I redeemed was my Florabotanica deluxe sample.  Even if you don't like the fragrance, the bottles are just so beautiful.  Thanks again!

YAAAAY! I just redeemed the rosabotanica perk. i burned 700 points in 5 days!!!

You ladies are so lucky! I am dying for this perfume. Looks like I need to start saving my points.

Are there any Chanel perfume lovers out there?  What's your favorite and why? I really want to purchase one while this promo is going on!

Not entirely related, but NPR's ATC featured a segment on a new book about the history of perfume called Scent and Subversion: http://www.npr.org/2014/02/06/272433713/perfumes-scents-of-subversion-sweat-musk-and-patchouli It's a really fascinating listen, and really starts at when Coco Chanel created No 5.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Chanel perfumes -- I mean, they're all so classic and have been around for so long. If you have time, go to a Sephora and ask for a bunch of samplers and try and figure out which one you like best?

I love Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. There are 3 Chanel Chance perfumes, the original one, Eau Fraiche, and Eau Tendre. They are all more citrusy and modern compared to most Chanel perfumes. Eau Tendre is the most floral. I just got it a month ago, and I love it!! Only available in Sephora stores, not online.

Thanks for the tips!  That book is totally on my wishlist now; thank you for suggesting it!  I do love Chance Eau Tendre, and I was totally leaning toward that one.  Sephora finally brought back Chanel perfumes online!  You can't review them, though.  Interesting!  http://www.sephora.com/chance-eau-tendre-P258612?icid2=Chanel_Women_020414_Chance_Eau_Tendre_Image

Also, in regards to scents-- I wore Dior J'adore today... and it smelled, dare I say, cheap?  I used to love that thing!  I'm wondering if I'm pregnant or something.

I love Chanel Mademoiselle. Quick note: YEARS ago (when I was 19) I used to layer a little Vanille Abricot over it to create my own signature scent. One night, I was reading Allure, and Nicole Kidman said she did the same thing! I was shocked.

i just got j'adore! i bid on it on ebay and got it for $46 (i checked and did a lot of research, and yes, it's authentic!). i was sneaky and placed my maximum bid 2 seconds before the listing ended.
smiletongue.gif
i wore it yesterday, and my boyfriend said i smell 'good'! sometimes he would say, i smell 'different', or 'weird' if he's not a fan of the perfume i'm wearing. maybe you'll love it again soon. i feel like that with my other perfumes. the only one i've always loved (so far) is the first ever perfume i bought, lovestruck by vera wang. in fact, i sold my issey miyake florale because i hated it so much lately. haha!

It's probably been a year since I last wore my J'adore. I used to really like it...maybe I will try it on tomorrow and see what I think. Ahh too many perfumes. I also want to wear my YSL Parisienne this week too. I've been ignoring everything for my Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.

Great, you're making me want to buy it tonight before I consult my husband!  Ha!  Like that ever happens anyway.

Let me know what you think about J'adore!  I might be going crazy.
