Hi, I'm new to this discussion (new to MUT in general), but I was wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with Sephora's brand eye shadow palettes?  The Natural Instinct and Primal Instinct palettes have both been marked down to $15, its making it really hard to say no unless I knew they were of poor quality... Also, my first Hourglass Ambient Lighting BLUSH should arrive today, I'm soooo excited!!
I got the Natural Instincts one on sale and was not impressed. It's not bad but cannot compare to UD. More like Nyx shadows.

That's what I was afraid of. I'm committed this year to only buying high quality makeup, I purged a lot of things in the last few months, and the last thing I want to do is invite stuff I'm not going to absolutely love back to my makeup drawers. Thanks for the reply!!

Costco is worth it I don't know anything about SAMs club. Felina underwear 5 pack for $12.99. My husband was shocked when he saw the real price of Calvin Klein undershirts. I live a mile from Costco so I'll just go pick up sour cream or something since it's the price of the tiny one for the huge one same brand. Sugar perfume is under 30 and it is a regular size and a rollerball I think.

Sephora has the new OCC lip pencils now! I'm so sad because I have a 20% off anything Ulta coupon that I planned on using this weekend but I've been counting down the days until the OCC lip pencil release. I wish Ulta carried OCC or that there was some kind of awesome discount code out there for Sephora...

what to do!

off topic :p:  I love amazon prime for the half price that my fiance and I pay now since it's the student rate. We're deciding if we want to keep it for the full price once the student membership expires in a month. We mainly use it to stream shows and movies (we don't have cable) and to order books. During the holidays and birthdays, prime reallllllllly comes in handy and in general it's just nice to get my package 2 days, or less sometimes, after I order.
I've had a student Amazon Prime membership for years (undergrad + grad). They just keep automatically renewing my membership at the $39 (or whatever it is) rate every January

I think that I had to submit proof that I was still a student last year or the year before.

Oh gosh-darn it you!!!  Raises tiny fist in jealousy...

I've been guilty of worse.  I think 7 years out of grad school I susbscribed to San Francisco's 'La-De-Da' season theater ticket as a student for half price and faxed in my application with my student ID.  I figured no matter how bad my wind blows, I'll be guranteed of a grand style sophisticated theater show once a month and to treat a friend as well.  Of course then the dot-bust became full blown and I ended up  sell the tix to cover rent and food on Craig's List... and I just was plumb in no shape to enjoy a fancy theater when everyone around me was getting laid-off.

Gosh... I've tangented even further out.

Just want to put it out there that if any of the talk on Costco, Prime and Sams's Club's becoming a bee in someone's bonnet, please feel very free to speak up and we'll divest subject into new thread.

My personal take has always been that I enjoy the occasional turns here and there, it keeps things interesting and I learn a lot and it'll usually clear-off within a day or two and return to center focus.  For example I would have never gone and looked up a thread on Amazone Prime but I've learned something here.  Still, being respectful of intent, please let us know if it's taken too much MUT space and well course correct :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />...

Oh with that...  I LOVE Costco!  I'm at home with 2 elderly parents who doesn't eat much but we get all our toilet paper, paper towel and other shelf staple products there.  They are also great for US PRIME CUT MEATS, gold label stuff.  These are resturant quality cuts that don't normally make it to the retail grocery but since economy's slow, you'll find them occassionally at Costco.  I'll spent the $60 on the 5 steaks and freeze each individually and with my two elderly folks, usually one steak is enough for all 3 of us and we feel like we just dropped $40 at a steak house.  I don't much get anyting else in between because we can't finish it fast enough.  I might get the 2 loaves of freash baked bread for $5 and give one loaf to the neighbor that helps with stuff from time to time.  Brocalli too, I'll get the very large bag and we'll usually go thorugh that if we made an effort.

Also my vice the junk food, Rice Crispey treats, Butter-Scotch cookies, protein bars and chocolates.  I'll usually eat half of it and send the other half out with the beauty care pacakges to AFG.  My rationale is that I'd spend the $6 to $12 for it at a normal grocery store anyway, so I'll get the double the amount at Costco eat my fill and send the rest to our 'brother and siters' who are eating MREs and they DO dig it!!

We got it when Groupon or LivingSocial was running a deal - $45 for membership, $20 gift card, and food vouchers, so the actual membership cost us $5, definitely worth it at that price ;-)

But at the full price of $45 for a regular membership, I don't know if it is. Sometimes the two of us just can't eat all the produce before it goes bad- I've stopped buying certain items (mainly their berries) because they would go bad soooooooo fast. Sam's Club aka Walmart is really understaffed so a lot of the items don't make it out of storage and onto the sales floor for a while, and this is horrible when it comes to fresh produce. I just never know how long something has sat in the back before someone brought it out. Gas is cheaper and most of our staple items are also- toilet paper, garbage bags, dishwasher tablets, that type of boring household stuff and then there are items we didn't think of buying but bought because they were such a good deal. But all in all, I think I find better fresh produce at regular grocery stores and I don't think it's worth the membership fee to go in for the other few regular items we buy. If we were a family of 4 or more, it might be, but with just the two of us...eh.

Just wanted to add that for my Costco account, I get 2 membership cards.  So I kept one for me since I did all the shopping between boyfriend and I.  I gave the other to newphew who was fresh into college and he and his entire house of 8 used that membership for just about everything.  So their point accrue from their purchases nearly covered my membership fee each year and they were grateful because as young college kids the last thing you want to think about is buying a Costoc membership (uncool for college kids) but being all boys, they ate like horses and they got a break on gas.

So you might do a family young one a favor and break even on your joining fees too, just a thought.

Oh they were so funny, Costco throws out imperfect or scratched furniture so i think they oufitted their entire college home with thrown out miss-matched brand new furniture tha wasn't show-room perfect, you know for a college kid, their furnishing was going to get scratched anywhere after the first party.

Unfortunately the rouge codes that they just sent out could be used by VIB's too. Not that I wouldn't want all VIB's to get great promos, but it's just confirms multiple VIB accounts is the way to go vs spending it all on one to get rouge.

That's weird...I tried to use the CARTROUGE code and it said I had to be logged in to a Rouge account (I'm VIB). I'll keep trying, though.

Ha this was me in College!  I had a BJ's wholesale membership and it was the only reasonable place to buy toilet paper when you have 7 roommates.

I got my order today and they left off the GLAMGLOW Eye sample and put in two Josie Maran Light Oil small packets in its place.  They had that sample online for DAYS after I placed the order - and I placed it before posting it here.  I am SO TICKED!

Did anyone actually get theirs?!?
That would have been preferable to what I got. Instead of the glamglow, I got a John Varvatos sample.

I just tried the glamglow and didn't see a difference. I have used the black mask and white mask, which I enjoyed. I don't think I would choose this sample again....If that makes you feel better, it was not even very hydrating.

UGH, that's messed up. I'm so sorry this happened to you guys!!

I really wanted the glamglow sample, I ordered a new blush on Friday ($35 order, that's all), received it today with TWO glamglow samples as well as the other two samples I requested, my 100 pt perks and deluxe samples I ordered from the ViceSwap code. I'm a VIB Rouge customer so I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but they shouldn't allow people to request samples if they don't intend to fulfill their order.  It makes me feel bad to know that people are not getting what they ordered and they're giving other people EXTRAS??? Get your act together.

Still, I am really excited to get these samples, and I will definitely use them, they aren't going to disappear into my sample box black hole this time...

Hmmm I have 2 shipped orders with glamglow samples, one that should have been here today (but I'm assuming it'll be tomorrow) and one set for Thursday...will be interesting to see if I get them or not!

Anyone know if you make a return for something you paid for with part gift card and part credit card online how it gets credited back to you when you return in store?  Thanks!

In my experience you get refunded in the form of payment you paid more. For example your order was $60, you had a $10 gift card and paid $50 on your credit card. You get the $60 credited back on your credit card. I don't know if it's always like that but it's happened to me twice.

Yeah that's happened end to me before when I had a $5 gift card they just credited it back to my card, but I think that's because by law a gift card under $10 can be redemmed for cash. I would think if it was more then $10 you would get the amount you paid on a gift card back on a gift card

Good beauty karma is headed your way!💅 ;-) I agree, people have done nice things for me on mut and I try to do the same pay it forward thing. Which made me laugh today when someone couldn't hold a door for me today when my hands were full. Clearly he isn't a mut member. Lol!
