All this talk about makeup and shoes ... does no one think of the bags?  I am not a shoe person, but I could buy handbags all.day.long.  And Nordstrom certainly has some fine looking ones.
I had to choose between shoes and bags so now I am on bag restriction... I can get a new one only if I part with one because my husband is unreasonable and refuses to move his clothes and stuff into the basement. He claims that turning one guest room into a dressing room and having 3/4 of the master bedroom closet should be a reasonable amount of space. Uhhhh not with having to store nail polish and the kitty perches. I claim he shouldn't be a big ol baby and just put his stuff in bins in the basement. Nordstrom has some gorgeous bags - and they have those wonderful off season sales.

You're husband IS being unreasonable, lol.

My husband tried the 'ol "You can't get new shoes unless you lose a pair." HA. That didn't happen (To be fair I did purge a few out....old/raggedy ones lol)
Before we had this new big ass house, he had moved most of his clothes into the hall closet to make room for my ever-growing wardrobe and let me have all of the extra floor space/door space for my shoes.

I realize I have a problem, and I do not care to fix it lol.

At this time, a new topic has been created for the banning of Sephora Rouge members.  Please use this new thread for any discussion of this topic.  I would also like to remind EVERYONE of Rule #1 in our Terms of Service:

"Be polite and respect other members and staff. Blatant mean posts will result in banning of user account and/or ip address"

Thanks!

Nordstrom also has the best return policy of all time. You can return any purchase at anytime with or without a receipt. They have definitely built a business on customer loyalty. Also they will tailor any of your purchase for a really awesome rate or even free.

Totally unreasonable.  Tell him the MUT ladies say so, so there!

We moved into a much bigger house a couple of years ago, and are just getting around to finishing our bedroom.  My husband doesn't seem to realize that the reason we needed the new bookcase was to store my nail polish (which I keep in bins and Glossyboxes, so he doesn't know what it is).  Or that the new full-length mirror I'm getting for Christmas is not really because we don't have one, but because I found a revolving one that has shelves built into it.  Which I have already earmarked for my purses, which will free up space in the closet ...

That is pretty amazing. I mean, I pretty much had no problem with Sephora's return policy (Well, minus the counting an online purchase even with a packing slip type receipt as exchange only/ return w/o receipt....cause I mostly shop online!) since theft is a real threat I know, but man...I can see why Nordy's has a fan base! (And tailoring ain't cheap! What a neat perk.)

What specific perfume are y'all feature during their 100 point promotion? I have been crossing my fingers for See by Chloe or Escada Cherry in the Air

One last Nordstrom praise before we get back on Sephora track - my mom is a super hoarder and keeps reciepts for everything. She had this one pair of shoes for like 2 years and wore them daily. They finally wore out or the sole broke or heel broke or something. She took her broken shoes and the receipt -- for the purpose of giving them the brand and style number -- just to see if those shoes are still being made. Lo and behold, they were still being made and in stock. My mom walked out of there with brand new shoes in exchange for the broken ones. Totally unexpected!

I'd love to see a point perk fragrance of something my boyfriend would like like that 1 Million or whatever gold bar one or some monte blanc! If you're looking for some see by Chloe, I'd totally just mail you the ones I have. I'll need some clues as to how to ship perfume safely though.

Mannnn, that VIBFORHIM code a few months back was the best, I got 2 rollerballs (YSL was one) and a mini of 1 Million (although its a pain in the ass to open and close).  There were like four or five different mens fragrances to choose from and you got 3 with one code!  I wish they would do that again so I could grab some stocking stuffers for my boyfriend.

Telling him the "MUT ladies said so" is a valid threat. He is still telling friends about the Box from the Nail Polish Circular Swap, the Black Friday shopping posts, the Sephora Promo Code Coconut Telegraph system, the secret Santa exchange and some of the photos on Blogs" The house is actually nice size and there are only 2 of us - 5 Bedrooms and 2.5 are mine plus my office downstairs. 1/4 of the 2 car garage is all telescopes, and I have half the basement for my soap making, my kiln, and gardening stuff. I really need to declutter, I have 242 pairs of shoes - at least a 100 that would do more good if I donated them. I am never ever going to wear a pair of 5" Betsey Johnson pumps again, must accept it and move on. I'm doing a life reboot for 2014 and it'll help.

OMG. Where do you work and how can I get a job there too? ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> If you have some serious sephora haulin to do, go for it!!! But $400 is a lot. A LOT A LOT. is there anything else fun you might need that you can get with $400? KitchenAid mixer, a purse, other stuff? Can you break up the amount at all? (Just my thoughts :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> )
This is a little OT but I just got an e certificate as a Christmas gift from work for $400. Sephora is one of the featured gift card conversions. Eeek! Dare I?
:) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> You are right. I think I can (and will) split it up between a few different options. My mind just saw Sephora and $400 and imagined the best shopping spree ever!

I respect everyone's opinion but it's good to treat others with respect and be kind. I like this discussion and I will be using it now and again to discuss beauty products/ deals.

I'm sorry, but what? And it's not directed at you -- like, who among us is allowed to be holier-than-thou about how other people spend their money.

The biggest irony here is that capitalism is inherently greedy. It doesn't care about consumer. The most greedy among all the parties here is Sephora. Beauty products have an insanely high profit margin since the cost of materials and production and development is so much lower than the price it's resold to us. That's why companies like Wet n Wild and NYX can sell us $1-2 items and still be a profitable brand.

I don't see how wanting to get the most bang out of your buck is greedy, especially if you've already spent upwards of $1000. And even if it is, how is that anyone else's business. That's like saying it's greedy to wait for the Sephora x Pantone items to go on sale before buying them because they're grossly inflated prices compared to the quality and brand. Capitalism is aimed at trying to cheat you out of as much money as it can. How is it greedy to try to keep as much of it as you can. I will always be on the consumer's side, because capitalism never favours actual people (and corporations are not people!) They have no feelings, no families, nothing for me to feel sorry for.

I used the adjective 'greedy' to refer to those that steal, return fake products without receipt, etc.  I should have explained myself better.

I WILL wear 5" Betsy Johnson pumps! Send them to slinka! Lol No one has my size shoe though. I have monster feet. Lol. (I kid, but they are big- size 10!)

Same here, it breaks my heart going to Ross and tj maxx they'll have shoes I love but none in my size.

Yes on Nordstrom makeup!  Also, they seem to sell out of limited edition stuff LAST of all.  That's how I scored my MAC Lavender Whip!  (Which I've worn twice... ahem.)

Okay girls I need your insight...

I'm new to Sephora just started shopping with them in October because I always wore Mac, but needed a whole new makeup and skin care routine.

My next order will push me over to VIBR and after seeing all the horror stories I'm wondering if I should just open up another account and have 2 VIB accounts?? It seems like I would get more discounts and be able to use more promo codes. Any thoughts???

My purchases will go down considerably but I they have a few things I can't purchase elsewhere, like my new foundation.

Thanks!!
