@renosaurus Does your Sephora carry illamasqua? Someone on Instagram recommended their black lipstick (when we were all sad that MACs LE black Friday black matte one sold out within like, 2 minutes!) If so, what's your opinion? They also have a black gloss- any other brands of black or black/purple gloss you know of/recommend? I'm just a little apprehensive to drop 20-22 bucks for a lippy/gloss!

MUFE has a black satin lipstick! its pretty opaque but not CRAZY opaque. theres also a black lip tar, lip tars last fooooooooreeeeeever. next time you're in a sephora just ask for a sample of the black lip tar lol. use a clear lip liner on the outer edges and you're good!
 

honestly, I've used black eyeliner as lip liner.

when i wear lip liner, i completely shade in my lips. I've never understand the concept of creating a ring/line around your mouth! the point of lip liner is to extend the wear of your lipstick and to also make it fade evenly. try UD perversion liner all over, and then i put a dab of lip balm on (not too much or it feathers!!) and you're set for hours.

Haha- I use eyeliner as lip liner frequently! Mostly because, well...I've yet to find emerald green/very purple/blue/etc lip liners, and I only recently acquired a clear liner! And YES- the whole line around the edge of the lips thing I never got...too chola for me lol.

In my darker days when I could wear black lipstick I found that small batch Indi brands that were run by people who actually wore the products were better than mass produced products sold just because the color is considered fashionable. I just wrote a "when I was your age" post. I'm off to open a bottle of wine.

My Emotional Black Hole has worn some of the colors - she is a beastly girl who is petulant and particular , and likes the brand.

In my darker days when I could wear black lipstick I found that small batch Indi brands that were run by people who actually wore the products were better than mass produced products sold just because the color is considered fashionable.

I just wrote a "when I was your age" post. I'm off to open a bottle of wine.

I can't get this thing to quote right, but it was mentioned that a clear lip liner was purchased to use with the lip tars. Can you tell me which one? These things are great but omg after only a few minutes I have streaks!

I know this isn't Sephora related, but if you're looking for a good liquid pen eyeliner, look for Dolly Wink's Liquid Eyeliner Pen. It's a Japanese brand, but you can find it easily on ebay. I personally love it more than the KVD eyeliner (which I don't like at all. It didn't work for me).

I did also order the LE Guerlain Liquid Eyeliner from Sephora, but it hasn't arrived yet. I'll let you know how it is once it gets here (tuesday, I think)

Sephora has one (heardit is currently unavailable though) and I just got one and I think it's Maybelline...it's a drug store one for sure. The only clear one I could find!

try using less product! i dont use liner when i wear liptars and they stay put all day long. i do use clear as a "primer" as they suggest and let that dry down for a bit before applying the tar.

[@]tweakabell[/@] I think I saw that collection on someone's blog but was mainly interested in the polish reviews (nothing spectacular) so I wasn't paying close attention to the other stuff but I seem to recall the lipsticks were Minnie molded a la the cute Paul & Joe LE cat set and got better reviews than the rest of the collection? Somehow the idea of someone acquiring both lipsticks just for the punch line of being able to say that I am the proud owner of cat & mouse lipsticks strikes me as hysterical.

I don't even like Disney (especially Minnie/mickey stuff) but I admit, that collection is very pretty, lol.

i loooooooooooove the origins charcoal mask with almost an unnecessary passion. i think its great!
