Sorry to hear that. I got one of her palettes that was on sale or clearance several months ago (maybe even about a year?). Anyway, it had good pigmentation. But I was watching Youtube vids on the Spellbinding palette (not the set but the larger palette) and I decided against it. All the colors looked so pretty in the pan, but swatched too lightly for my tastes. Most of the reviews were good. But I was so on the fence about it anyway. I did order the Vice 2 UD palette and I'm happy with it. They're my overall fave anyway. In fact, even though I just ordered that BH Galaxy palette thanks to Ipsy, I'm trying to limit my future shadow purchases to UD only. And even then only when it has lots of new colors in it. I might make an exception for holiday sets. But this year I didn't see anything interesting. Now, I am still waiting on an order of the large Kat Von D Sinner perfume. That's my favorite nighttime scent! I ordered it on the 10th. It still says sent to warehouse. I'm hoping they aren't going to cancel my order just because they're out of that stupid Lips Tote. Ugh! I really want my perfume (and at a discount). But I'd say try out other stuff in the KVD line in stores if you can. I think her stuff is kind of hit or miss.

Totally agree re: hit or miss. I have her Ludwig palette (the one with the greens) and it's BEAUTIFUL. Pigmentation is on point/swatches true to pan, this one is just alllllright. I have another painted love lipstick that I adore, even though it is slightly drying. I think I am just going to return the set today and see if anything catches my eye in store. If not, $60 back to me!
Actually, I'm going to take back what I said about the Spellbinding palette. I found out about her Ladybird palette last night--mattes--and I wanted to go up to Sephora in JCP and the regular store to check on it. I swatched Ladybird in JCP and hated it, but the palette sampler was really messed up with other shadows and stuff. They had 1 left for sale. But, they did not have a Spellbinding palette out for sampling at all. So I went upstairs to the regular store. Their Ladybird looked like it was in better shape, so I swatched it again to make sure the shape of the palette downstairs hadn't given me the wrong impression. It had! I won't say Ladybird is a favorite palette of mine, but I think with the mattes it would be useful. I did really LOVE the deep, eggplant-like matte purple.
Then, out of curiosity, I swatched several colors from Spellbinding, expecting them to be ok but not great. They were pretty doggone good. Not my gold standard of Urban Decay, but close enough to get my attention. So I'm wondering if they simply don't translate well from real life to video/pictures. Not colors you'd wear to a photo shoot of course, but for just wearing out, they were tempting. I asked a SA if Ladybird or Spellbinding was a limited edition. She said the True Romance Palettes, which includes Ladybird, were regular stock AND best sellers, so she couldn't imagine they would get rid of them. But the Spellbinding set is for Christmas only. I bought Spellbinding because of that.
Now, I know I want Naked 2 (still haven't got it), Naked 3, Ladybird, and the Too Faced Matte set (which impressed me when I swatched it). Some might not be drawn to the really whitish/creamy color in the TF set, but I was for some reason. Great! $200 I already know I want to spend. But, if they are all regular, non-limited edition, I can wait a while.
Btw, there was some discussion in another thread that Sephora may manufacture the products for Kat Von D. This surprised me. I found a Sephora Palette that looked great, but was just ok with the pigmentation. (Better than some of their palettes I've tried, but not as Good as the Kat Von D). Is this because of the price differences between Sephora brand and KVD brand? If so, it seems they do know how to make buttery shadows with good pigmentation after all.
Oh, and I also got to see the Hourglass powder palette everyone was stalking. I was shocked at how smooth and silky it felt! Really shocked! So I imagine it would apply like a dream. However, I'm not into shiny except on my eyes and maybe my lips--not on the face though--so it wouldn't be for me. 2 of the colors were too bronzy brown and the only 1 I could see getting any use out of at all was the middle color. Of course, that's the one that was only made for that palette. It reminded me of a powder version of High Beam but with microglitter added to it. I would have enjoyed experimenting with it out of curiosity, but not for $58 just for that one color. Oh well. Hopefully some ladies on here who got the palette can post pics.

I own the KVD Ladybird palette and it's my go-to wear to work palette. Then I swatched it in store I wasn't happy with the swatches. Some of the shades did not seem very pigmented - but the tester was gross. I brought it anyways because I saw rave reviews online and I wanted a matte palette. The pigmentation is actually good and the shadows blend well on my eyes. The shadows last hours on me. I'm picky about shadows and I really love my Ladybird palette. It's hands-down one of my top 3 palettes.
