I currently have half a head of pre-bonded (keratin tipped) hair extensions which I would like to remove.

I have been told that if i cover all of my hair in conditioner and leave it for a while they should slide out. Has anyone tried this?

I would like to try this method first before calling the stylist to remove them, ive heard that it works and if it does then its saving me quite a bit of money! experiences?

Hi hi.  Yes I have heard it works.  I myself never had bonded extensions, however my sister did and even though she went to our hairstylist to get it out, he told her should she not have time to come in, she can get them out this way.  I mean you can test it to see, if it doesnt work, then I would suggest going to your stylist.  Bonded extensions can be tricky and if you don't handle them the right way while getting them out, they can rip out your hair...yuck right?

Thanks for the reply :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'll give it a go tonight (excited!) if it dosn't work I will have to call the stylist.

I cant wait to have them taken out and have my hair cut. I've worn extensions for 4 years now and I cant wait to try out lots of conditioning masks and treatments which I havn't been able to use for a long time. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Just thought I would drop a message to tell you all how it went incase anyone was thinking of doing the same thing with the conditioner. I covered my hair in conditioner and left it for around 40min to an hour, the bonds were much softer when I rinsed the conditioner out but they didn't slide out. I managed to break a few with the plyers and comb them out but it was still difficult, all in all I managed to remove about 1/4 of the extensions so I have bought the removal solution and will try again tonight. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
