Question for people that use a flat iron =]

Straightening your hair is very damaging. My friend who straightens her hair daily has white split ends. I've been trying to tell her to cut them off but she insists in growing out her hair midback length. Your hairdresser makes your hair straighter than you can because she can move around you to make sure she will not get kinks when she straightens you hair. It also has to do with the straightening iron. Better quality irons tend to have a nicer look and feel to them. Use a shine spray and smoothing milk/balm to make it shiny and straight!

i used to use hot tools til i got my ghd and it's DEFINITELY a huge difference, with or without products!

The Chi brand is very good. Add a bit of serum after you straighten, it gives it a silky look to it and keeps the hair straight all day!
