okay my hair dresser straightened my hair with a flat iron [idk which one, i think a ghd???] and it was sooo nice! but now..of course..i cant do it! do you think it was the products she put in my hair or do you think it was the straightener? i have a 1" hot tools straightener and i am thinking about getting a solia on folica.com b/c its only $88 now! but my hair even stayed nice and straight in the morning! ive never gotten mine to do that. BUT i watched her do mine and i did mine like she did it but my back still likes to go off path. maybe i need a better flat iron. the hot tools one kinda sucks.. haha.

how do you all get your hair to be all nice and straight all day??

I would say it was probably the iron. I have had many drug store irons and none has worked as well as the CHI. E BAY had several for about the same price. I belive it is the best!

Yes the flat iron definitely. I had just a cheap one and it was okay and then I got ghds and wow you can definitely see the feel the difference. It heated up a lot faster and made my hair a lot smoother.

I would love to have a GHD..but they are super expensive!! RIght now I have a flat iron that I got from Sallys. Its a...Jillebre one? Or however you spell it. And I also have a Hot Tools one..but I dont like it. Are like...Solias, Sedus, Chis, GHDs better than those ones??

I use my chi and my hair stays flat all day and the next day,So i'm thinking its the flat iron that ur using.I also use some hair products and I think that helps 2.

I wouldn't recommend the new Sedu (Revolution i think). I tried a ton of different products and techniques and it just didn't work. I ordered the original sedu on impulse and if that doesn't work then I'm going to try the chi. After that I give up completely.

I also agree that it's the iron. I've only had one person be able to get my hair straight and it was with a chi. All the cheaper irons never seem to work nearly as well.

i also havent been able to flaten my hair like the girls do in the salon, only cause they do use high end brands.

It does also help ti have a great product during and after use.

I use Schwartzkopf's anti frizz after i straighten, it is thicker then most anti friz stuff but u only need a small amount , i use about the size of a 5 cent piece.

I also use another product when drying my hair, but cant think of the name, got it from the hairdressers.

The current hair iron i use is a crap remington that is worth about 50 bucks does nothing for my hair so products work well for me. Get my GHD in about a month!!!

Oooh lucky! I was I could afford a GHD. For all of you that have a Chi, which one do you have?? I have also heard bad things about Chis..like they break easily and will just stop working.

I have used a CHI for years, my friends, and nothind has ever gone wrong. I just recently got a new one for mothers day and it is the pink and silver one.... I LOVE IT!!!!!

on this site All Women's Talk they have a GHD Mk4 on sale for $94.95...and on the folica website its $240. Thats crazy.

I havent even had my Hot Tools flat iron for a year and the purple on the plates are coming off and the lettering on the flat iron is like half off.

i have one of the gem chi, its green i got it at ulta last christmas and i cant believe i lived without it!! i love the way my hair turns out after i use it!!!

Really? I use my Sedu Ionic Ceramic Termaline one all the time and it works super great! And trust me when I say I have freeze super thick hair, I mean my hair is thick and I have a lot of it!!
I would say that its the flat iron as well as some products. Ive tried cheap store brand and they didnt work until I got my Create and then my Sedu. Aslo Ive tried different products and my hair stays straight for like a week if I use good salon quality products.

I meant the new Sedu with the nano technology or something along those lines. I just bought the original sedu and it works 100 times better then the other one. Even when I used both of them at the exact same temperature the original sedu made my extremely thick frizzy hair much straighter and smoother.

i love my T3 1inch straightner. i like how it has the heat dial so i can set how hot i want it. i put it to the hottest btw. 410.

Definately the iron, invest in a good iron. It's the best investment you can make for hair tools. I love my Chi!

I personally own a Solia and love it to death. (bought it off Folica)

Before you iron be sure to use a heat protectant.

(such as a shine spray)

Prep hair by combing it a through, this will have get rid of tangles as well.

(always comb from the bottom up)

It's best to use duckbill clips to section and separate hair, it takes time to look good.

But don't linger on my section for too long, you don't want to scorch the hair. (this applies to any flat iron)

When you're finished ironing you can use a bit of serum only on the ends of the hair to tame frizzies.

You can always count on John Freida serums, I love the smell as well. hahah
