Question About Hair Color Home Kit

Hi,

I bought 2 boxes of Clairol L'Image hair color kits from a store and I guess they discontinued the brand.. Well it is from like 2004 or 2006 on the direction box. Do home color kits expire? I really like this stuff but dont want anything to happen to my hair. It was great color I dont know why they must have discontinued it.

Yes and no in that it does expire. Typically the liquid will not bad so long as the bottle have not been opened HOWEVER there is the chance the developer (which is at least 10% hydrogen peroxide unless otherwise specified) can loose it's effectiveness. What color is it? If you have the receipt I would suggest returning it if possible and getting your money back simply because the products should have been pulled from the shelves a long time ago.
