Hey guys!

So I need your help!! I work in a salon and the owner is doing a competition in a few months to see which stylist can bring in the most NEW clients..She suggested we all make flyers that promote ourselves to hand out to people. Well, I'm really bad at boasting on myself or even talking about myself so I need some help.

Please give me ideas and suggestions for my flyer!

I hate not knowing the hours and prices of a salon...

My suggestions would be to include a free consultation, state what services you folks provide, and include the hours of service and prices.

You might want to state that your salon provides 100% satisfaction (if your salon will back that up).

Good Luck

I think free consultations are great.  also add the hours that YOU are there because then your clients know exactly that you will be available at those hours and times also say that you will try to accomodate for drop-ins so you can catch those that didn't make appointments.  If you have a portfolio of your works, you can print some photos of your work so people can see.

I'm actually in looking for a new stylist, I recently moved and so far some of the things that have gotten my attention are stylist who promote themselves with sales. I've seen adds where stylists put new client- $25 shampoo/cut/blowdry or $35- for highlights. Something like that, you wanna stay competitive, since there are a ton of hairdressers. Also put your add on Craigslist too and perhaps she if you can set up a booth at a nearby college campus to advertise.

Some of the salons I frequent are on twitter and facebook.  They frequently post/tweet things like "20% off a haircut with Nicole today!" or "New clients receive 15% off this week when they book with Stacy!".

Lauren.

The best way to get clients is get up off the computer, go out side. And bust ass. Give your cards to EVERYONE! You pay for your meal.. give them a card.  You go to the carwash... give them a card.

You get the point.

Criagslist is junk unless you are doing something for free. even then ehhh.

are you a user of behind the chair on facebook? If not join that! They are a great group of hairstylists and VERY WELL KNOWN!

i would say there is maybe a 2% group here that does hair for a living like you and I. As one person stated a free consult. You and I both know any proffesional stylist should be doing a free consult prior to any service.

a quick few things

Make a website displaying your work and Info. Put that address on your card.

use wix.com for this. It is easy and cheap.  I would post mine but I dont think I can.

Make new glossy buiness cards. I use Vista print for mine. Also cheap and great looking.

Hand those bad boys out to everyone!

Cold call old clients

Offer ideas for discounts. BUT do not keep running discouts every month. other wise you will lose income that you could have had.

join that page on FB i told you about. The people there are very helpfull and have GREAT ideas. There have been a few posts like this in the past week.

I'm so glad you said all of this because I'm doing most of it! I'm glad I'm doing something right :] I have a website with my portfolio, prices, info and more. I have a Facebook Fanpage, a twitter, and online scheduler. I have tons of business cards that I give out EVERYWHERE! I'm a behind the chair user :]

Thank you so much! You're awesome!
