Hi! I just got Euronext 14" extensions. I can't seem to get them to look right. My hair is about halfway between my chin & shoulders. When I put the extensions in, you can see a definite line from the bottom of my natural hair. I've tried curling my hair. I've also pinned my natural hair up. That makes it look too thin, though. I'd really appreciate any advice.

I have not used extentions, sorry I am of no help.

Perhaps try trimming them and brushing them with your natural hair to sort of combine the two...

Clip them in higher and create more layers don't put them all under the hair bring them forward.

14" sounds rather short for that length though you are not really adding much to you're already existing hair.

Good luck.

Thank you both for responding.  I am still working on making them look good.  It's definitely a learning experience!  I'm not sure if it was a beginner's mistake or just a really dumb mistake, but I didn't wash them when I first got them.  After I washed and conditioned them and let them air dry, they look fuller.  I keep practicing curling and styling when I have time, too.

Maybe the texture of the extensions and your hair is different?  How is it in?  Is it clipped, sewn, bonded....what?  Is it a straight type of hair? What is your hair texture?  Straight, curly, wavy?

The extensions are clip-in and straight.  This is from the site: "The Euronext Remy Clip-in 14-Inch Human Hair Extensions Package contents include: one 8" wide weft, one 7" wide weft, one 6" wide weft, one 5-3/4" wide weft, four 1-1/2" wide weft, two 1" wide wefts with no snap clips attached (for color testing)."  Each weft seems very thin, but I've never used extensions before.  So they might be normal.  They were very silky when I first got them which probably contributed to my problem.  Washing them has helped with that.  My hair is straight, and I would say the thickness is average.  It's not super full, but it's also not too thin.  It holds a curl very well.

I did stop at Sally Beauty yesterday with the extensions in.  The clerk, who is a stylist, told me I needed to start the bottom weft closer to the hairline on the back of my neck.  I did try this.  However, the 5 3/4" is too wide to clip there.  I can clip the middle clip of it low enough but then have to angle the ends up.  By lowering the wefts and putting them closer together, I do end up with a lot of my natural hair left on top over the top weft.  I can't get this to blend right.  The clerk suggested I pull that part of my hair up in a clip until it grows more.  I don't mind doing that but didn't really want to have to wear it like that all the time.

Thanks!

Good luck.

Definitely create layers with them. Put some of those 1-inch pieces near the very top of your head too. Or you may want to get some trimmed, but make sure you go somewhere where they have done clip in extensions before.

Layers are a good thing for blending them into your natural hair. I have those same ones and you really need to buy 2 packs to get the full look of these.

These where mine

This is 2 packs of them.

Some of the pieces will be to short for most peoples head. They will give you 4 little ones. Use those twords the front of the head. This will give them a fuller look.

Also to put them in. Section your hair out and backcomb tword the base of your head and spray with hairspray. This will give them something to hold onto and put them out a bit more.

hi. when i started doing extensions on myself, i had the same problem. it takes practice.  the shorter your hair is, the harder it is to blend. my profile picture as u can see believe it or not i AM wearing clip ins. however, it took me two packs to make them. i get mine from sallys, glue two strips of hair together for each piece, & add clips to them which they sell at Sally's also.  i think your problem is you need more extensions, if they are too thin  it will look unnatural & others will be able to tell you're wearing them. so maybe try adding another set.   good luck hun

Yep you are right Lisa. You need two packs to get the full look. I don't even know why they try to make it seem as if one will work. The only time one has worked with me was I had to put them in a clients hair and then curled her whole head and pulled it to the side. She got a very nice full look.

Thanks guys!  The pics and advice have been a lot of help.  I'm glad to know that I probably need 2 packs because I was beginning to think I was a real idiot for not being able to make them look right.
