This was the first Stylish Surprise I've ordered.  I ordered 2 dresses .. and ... womp, womp.  They sent the same dress, lol.  I chatted and they refunded me, but I really wish they'd just sent another dress!  The dress is OK.  The belt that comes with it is tacky though.  But that's the case with belts a lot of the time, lol.

I can't believe they did this to so many people. I mean..when you're packing a box, HOW HARD IS IT to look and see if the items you're packing are exactly the same?  :blink:

Seriously! I could see if they were brown bagged and you can't see the item, that's fair, but there is NO reason for people to be getting multiples this frequently.

edit to add: there's a big wave of people on facebook with dupes right now too.

My friend from work ordered 5 dresses - she got 3 of one and 2 of another.  

This must be costing them a fortune.  I should have mine tomorrow.

Yeah, I got 3 of one and 1 of another. They refunded me for the 3 identical dresses so yeah, if they're doing the same with everyone else, this must be costing them a ton. Which means they'll hopefully avoid this happening again next time!

At this point, I don't care if they cancel my order. So many people are getting multiples and there has only been a few dresses and apparel items that I have seen that I actually like. Now I will just start saving up for their Spring stylish surprise, where they will hopefully not screw up like they did this time.

... I got three of the same dress. It's blue and floral Lacey and really ugly aaanndddd it doesn't fit. I guess it doesn't help that my day has been crappy either

My first SS came in today! I ordered one dress; it's lovely and beautifully-made, but not quite my style.

The sad thing is that they're probably not losing any money on this at all, even with refunding - they've still charged shipping, they get to get rid of stuff that they haven't been able to sell that was taking up storage space (thus costing them money with each day of storage), and they still get the 10 bucks per item that wasn't duplicate or wrong, which is $10 more than the item was getting them before.

WOW. I thought it was, like, a few people that were getting duplicates. Sounds like more people than not are experiencing this.

The dupes are starting to make it to eBay too.

At this point I'm glad I only ordered one of each thing. Even though people are getting refunds it still completely takes the fun out of it when you get something you can't use and have to stress about trying to trade off.

I'm also super glad I only ordered 1 dress, which is where the issue seems to be. At least if I get multiple pairs of the same shoes I could rehome 2 pairs with 2 friends, provided the shoes aren't hideous.

ETA:

My shipping info for my 1st package updated, 6.1lbs for 1 dress and 3 pairs of shoes!

@eliu810 That floral dress is really cute! I kind of like the kitschy-ness of the deer one and I'd probably wear it if I got that.

I just checked the ModCloth site, since I was planning to chat with them if my order still says pending, and it now says shipped!!!!!!! I haven't received any emails from them, but atleast the site says shipped! *phew* Now, just need to obsess over if I'll get two of the same item LOL

My 'apartment suprirse' came today.. I'm not thrilled, but it could be much worse. It's just very much NOT my style. Although, maybe it's my own fault, I kept saying, "if I get a pillow it'll be ok.. How bad can a pillow be?"

My stylish surprise says it'll be to me on Mon. I think if there was FedEx delivery on Sat. I'd get it then lol. The tracking is showing it fairly close to me already.
