Oh yes Pebo!!! You and me both about this luminesse. I was so excited about it but it looks terrible on me from the start until the finish. I looked bad when I first put it on. Buffed it in. Waited and by a few hours later I still looked bad and at the end of the day I just stood in the mirror amazed at how bad my skin looked! You ever do that? Just "freak" yourself out on how bad something about you looks and then laugh about it before you do something about it? It is not good for me at all. But I will say that the FF and VV make up for it in my books completely. Everything is not for everybody is true.

Memaize-

I agree with Lilita that the VV and FF were very similar on me. Just the Lumi was way off and I heard from everyone that it was way darker. Fortunately I didn't like the coverage so what the heck?

Lilita-

Yep, like my FF. I think because my skin is so dry, it just nourishes it. And what is it with the pore thing? They really do just disappear on me. BTW- yesterday I was wearing MW and it looked fine. I haven't done any makeup today... can you believe? It's almost 1 pm here. I was doing some skincare stuff.

NYL-

I see some women love the Lumi but me, eh- I rather liked the color though in my normal L-M G. I looked like I had this awesome tan.

Hi LadyTee,

My sample was Ocicat in Flawless Feline Frisky. When I place my Meow order for full sizes I plan to order Ocicat FF full size and an Ocicat concealor in Sleek. I also have a really good match in Siamese Frisky and plan to order a full size of that in the Flawless Feline. I really love the Ocicat but I see a lot of olive in it and I might mix some of the Siamese in there to lessen the olive.

memaize- I feel for you. EDM duped me too. I bought Light Intensive BEFORE they had a new shade which was Light Winged Butter, and I used to mix Golden Fair and the old Light before, so I bought a FS Light only to realize that what I was using before was actually Light Winged Butter! They actually created a new shade of Light! Anyways, I don't use my Light-Medium Golden VV anymore because I break out with Lumiere, but I would be upset too if my Luminesse shades are different from the ones I've always known.

Ruby: glad you're okay and back here! Can you imagine we hit 98 degrees yesterday and we've been using our a/c at home??? Are we even in the same country? :rotfl:

Ladies, I just tried straight Pampered Puss F Chartreux, and it worked!! Can't wait to show you guys some pics. I want to compare it with FF F Chartreux, because this seems to be a little peachier. I just know I'm definitely a Frisky instead of Naughty in Chartreux. I just did't use Meow today because I'm enjoying J.Lynne Light Medium Golden so much!

Lilita, since we seem to have almost the same skintone, have you tried the straight Chartreuxs, especially Frisky?

Hi Ruby2. I was reading through this post and saw that you visit China. Are you from there? A good friend on this board used to live there (Gvieve). Where do you visit? Just curious because she really loves it there and still has lots of close friends from there and still there. Sounds like a really nice place.

Periwinkle, I've been using Lumiere VV for a couple of months now, and I've been breaking out here and there also. Never happened before with BE, EDM or OceanMist...did happen with Sheer Cover (very first MMU). I thought it was just me and my crazy skin, but now that I hear you had problems with it too...wonder what it is? Have you any idea what it is about Lumiere that made you break out? I really wanted it to work cuz I liked the VV, so I just kept using it, hoping it wasn't the mu. I can't wait to get my Meow order; hope the colours are dead-on match for me. I got the Frisky Angora, but now after hearing you and Lilita talk about using the Chartreaux, I'm kinda worried that I made a wrong choice. I just figured Asian...yellow undertones...Angora or Absynnian, sounded right at the time. But now I'm starting to realize that I don't only have yellow undertones but maybe some peach/olive too? It's so confusing...:tocktock:

Hi Sunny, are you asian as well? I am waiting on samples of Angora, because I didn't get that on my first order. I am trying Chartreux which is peach-yellow and it worked for my NC30 (MAC shade) skin. I'm asian and I have a lot of yellow undertones, but Abyssinian didn't quite do it for me. I had to mix it with something else. Persian was too peach(?). Chartreux Frisky might be my best bet because it's the only breed I could wear straight (no mixing). If I can save money by buying only one tub, why not?

Lumiere broke me out bad, and it was because of the oat ingredient (I strongly believe). It is the only MMU I've tried that has the avena sativa ingredient, so that could be it. I researched about it and it's an organic ingredient, we know it's used as food for people and fodder for animals. I was thinking since I use other products on my skin, like a moisture spray to set the makeup and moisturizer, the organic ingredient kind of mutated into bacteria when it got exposed to these other products I use. That is why I prefer not to use Lumiere, while it is an excellent brand (I still use their eyeshadows, GREAT quality), the foundations might not be for everyone.

Periwinkle, yes I'm also Asian... tons of yellow undertones but lately have been noticing possibly some peachy ones too...weird. I'm wondering since I know that Monave is one of your HG's, do you think Claire or Kerry would be a better match for light Asian skin. I use Golden Fair in EDM and Light Golden mixed with Light Neutral in Lumiere, have you any suggestions? I think the Teporah would be too dark for me, just wanted to know what you thought...Also, did you know that there is a seller on ebay that re-sells Monave products for outrageous prices? A foundation that sells for $25 on the Monave site is about 10-12 including shipping to Canada, think it's safe? Just in case you're interested in taking a look, the name of the store on Ebay is Makeup Boulevard, I'm not sure if I can leave a link, but I'll try...eBay Store - Makeup Boulevard: Eye Shimmers, Matte Eye Shadows, NEW ITEMS

Sunny- thanks for that link! Amazing discounts, if the feedback is good (which I have not checked), then I think buying off Ebay is not a bad idea.

I have a friend who has very light skin, some say she looks Korean, and she wears Caroline in Monave. Caroline is the perfect shade for very light-skinned asians. If you don't like the concealer-foundation formula, you can always ask Deb (the owner, she's super helpful and easy to deal with) to make it for you in the regular foundation formula. I am pretty sure Caroline is your shade, because Kerrie and Claire don't have enough yellow undertones (yup, I've tried them as well). HTH!

Sunny-

I wear Caroline in Monave. I wear L-MG FF in Lumiere. Radiant Gold in LaurEss. It's definitely lighter but still yellow.

Hi Ladies! Periwinkle-it was a crazy day yesterday and I was so glad to get the electricity back. It is FREEZING here today, woke up to about 1/2 inch of snow and the wind is blowing and there are more flurries in the air right now. I don't think I'd like 98 degrees either, but maybe a happy medium?! That is great that you can wear straight Pampered Frisky Chartruex, it's good to save $ wherever you can too. How would you compare the coverage to the Flawless Feline? Which one is peachier? Did you try N. Chartreux in Pampered too? Because I want the one that is less! I am trying to decide between Pampered and Purrfect-maybe I'll just get both! I would love to see pics posted of you in the F. Chartreux! I am glad that you are loving your JL so much too.

Icecookies-I was born in Hong Kong, but have lived in the US since I was 17 mos. My husband and I adopted our 2 daughters from China-our oldest is from Jiangsu Province and our youngest is from Anhui (both Eastern provinces, S. of Beijing) We are "first adopters", ie: we didn't try for bio children first, I knew from the time I was about 5 that I wanted to adopt and luckily my husband was on board too. We have been to Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. We are taking them back in a couple of yrs. and will go to Beijing and spend more time traveling and sightseeing since they will be the right age (ie: not babies!). I love China-people are so friendly, food is out of this world, but they are the craziest drivers I've ever seen! Why was Gvieve living there? How lucky for her! I can't wait to go back, the only thing is the jet lag home is horrendous. Takes about 2 full weeks to recover. Hope that wasn't too much information!

Sunny-I think you'll be ok w/F. Angora and you may be lucky enough to wear that "straight"! Which formula did you get? I haven't worn Lumiere VV for a long time, but it didn't break me out. I'm w/Hoozey though, the FF works much better for me and the color (L-M Gold) matches really well. If you wear those EDM colors then I think Teporah would definitely be too dark for you. I could never really find a good match in EDM, but Monave Hyeyeon works really well for me. That might be a tad too dark for you since you're a L. Gold in Lumiere. Keep us posted on your Meow colors!

Ruby2 - I love that you're "first adopters"! I have a client who was born in China. She also adopted two girls from China, and she wishes she could afford to adopt more!

Thank you, Memaize! I am on a large Yahoo list for China Adoptive Parents, I wonder if your client is on there too? It's called APC (Adoptive Parents China) and full of wonderful information and a real sense of "community". We are thrilled w/our girls!

hi sunny!

fyi: i think lumiere's vv is breaking me out, too. i'm so bummed! i wear lm golden in the vv.

i think periwinkle is right re: the caroline in monave. i have one of those on order right now. i tried the hyeoyeon which everybody w/ my coloring seems to love..but it just seemed kinda orangey on me. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> i'm gonna give it another test run, but based upon recs from those at monave, it sounds like caroline might be a better match. (light yellow)

btw, i didn't realize i have peachy with my yellow undertones until lilita pointed out her "peachiness" ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and her lynx mix w/ the peach was a good match. i tried it, and realized, "hey! i have peachy tones, too!" go figure. good 'ol lilita, she's really great with color. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> (waves to lilita!)

Ruby2, God bless you for your heart of gold. There are so many children that need families, and the fact that you knew long ago that you wanted to adopt must be a testament to your kindness. I hope to adopt from overseas one day too!! As for the EDM colours, I agree, I had to settle for Golden Fair although it was a tad light, but not too much. I ordered the Purrfect in Meow, hope it's great, will def keep y'all posted when it gets here.

Hey there Pebo, isn't that crazy...I'm also disappointed about the Lumiere breaking me out. I was really hoping it was something else, but there's nothing else it could be for me...That's funny about the "peachy" undertones, I also just realized I have some!!

Yes, Lilita is wonderful with her colour charts. Thanks Lilita for your colour chart, it really helped alot!!

Hoozey, if you are a Caroline, I wonder if it would be a little too dark for me since I'm a LG in Lumiere's VV...what do you think?

Periwinkle, thank you so much for your advice, I was just about to order the Claire when I read your message...thanks again. I'll try the ones you suggested...I have to go back and read them...short term memory loss.:kopfkratz:

My samples to mix with were shipped today.Although I may just try them alone before mixing...maybe that will work

Sunny, thank you for your kind words. We have been unbelievably blessed by our girls and thank the MAN upstairs for bringing us together as a family everyday. That is wonderful that you want to adopt too! My oldest (almost 6) is a total girly-girl and whenever I get a package she watches me intently as I transfer to jars, label, etc. and asks so many questions about colors and what things are for.......she's a MMU girl in the making! Good luck as you continue to find your match w/Meow, it's not easy!

Sunny-

Caroline is quite light- as a matter of fact, I thought- there is no way I can use this because it was so much lighter than was I was used to. It was the second lightest shade in the l-m yellow sampler. So I'd say try.

Peri-

I think it looks perfect on you. So lucky that you don't have to mix! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I haven't yet had a chance (or free face) to try the frisky Chartreux on its own, but I swiped it on my wrist and I think it may be a bit too light for me. I am getting some color in my face now so I'm moving into the "medium" depth...

Naughty Chartreux FF works though... I still have to try this in PP- I think it will be a better match..

So many samples to test, so little time, so little face space!
