Has anyone had their hair professionally straightened, or had the one where their is less frizz? Please let me know. I am curious about what one to get and if they are really good. I would feel alot better about myself if I could wake up everyday and not have to use a straightning iron on it, but just get up and go and have the hair I used to have.

I have never personally had my hair straightened as it is quite straight as is, but I have seen and know many girls who have had their hair straightened professionally.

They all loved the results and I believe it lasted them a very long time, the only complaint I have ever heard was that after a few times of having it done, their hair became drier and more damaged then it was before they had it done. This was with regualr chemical straightening though, there is also a japenese hair straightening technique that has great results, and it something to consider if you can find a place that does it. I think that is the way I would go, if I were to do it.

I've never had my hair chemically straightened, but I know that you do have a few options when it comes to this treatment:

- Japanese/Chinese/Any other name straightening - quite a harsh treatment that two of my friends had done.  Leaves your hair POKER straight for about 5-6 months, but it's quite damaging, so you can't have any dye whatsoever in your hair already, and you need to keep your hair in good condition.  Can cost anywhere between $200 and $400.

- Relaxers - Usually don't get your hair super straight but smooth it out, and are more temporary than the above treatment.  They won't damage your hair half as much though, and are a lot cheaper.  Definitely under $75.

- Silicon Hair Treatments - The main purpose of these treatments is NOT to chemically straighten your hair, but rather that is the result of these nourishing treatments.  At my hairdresser they are about $150 for a full head of long hair.  Improves the condition of your hair immensely, and as a result, your hair gets much straighter and softer.  Not sure how long they last for.

Go to your hairdresser and see what options you have.  I'm sure they can suggest something to suit your needs :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I go to cosmetology school and they say the best  and healthiest straightening process right now is keratin hair straightening.I haven't had that course yet so I don't really know how it works but it is popping up in the local salons here.

What do you mean by the hair you used to have? Frizz generally indicates hidden waves/ curl, many curly girls will tell you stopping fighting your natural hair type is the only way to healthy hair. If your hair is becoming progressively more difficult to manage the chances are you have heat damage, in which case it would not be advisable to chemically treat the hair as keratin treatments work by weakening the internal structure of your hair.
