My hair texture is complicated. I have a pure cross between both of my parents. My mom has shiney fine straight strands and my dad has curly hair that will fro out. So I am left with shiney super tight curls ( pretty much like doll hair), but I unfortunately have ALOT of it. My hair is thick. It seems like the hair around my crown is what poofs the easiest if not strategically brushed, hydrated and coated. I have found the ISO makes a decent line for my hair. Cant remember what it is, the yellow capped ones. But I twist my hair into a clip for half the day or more until its pretty set and dry, then take it down and it holds good for a day maybe two before my strands rebel.
I am looking into trying something heavier, I know alot of you dont like heavy products. But i NEVER straighten my hair, for as thick and as tight as mine is, straightening takes minimum of 3 hours. And I live in Minnesota. Humidity galore. I've embraced my curls I guess, lots of trial and error. Also another thing for curly hair is to find good hair styles. A awesome way to control the volume is to do a half pulled back look, this holds the top layers tighter. Works for me atleast since its my top layers that floof. So I do frequently use olive oil with a hair mask as my hair products. It's heavy, it conditions, it works.
