Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post.

Here's whats happening. Lately, these past 2 or 3 weeks, my hair has been EXTREMELY full of static. Sticks to everything, my face my car seats, seems like someone got a balloon and rubbed it on my head. Anyways, I read it's because maybe the hair is dried out. But I live in Miami, humidity here is not a problem, but then I also read it may be the shampoo, I use head and shoulders & only use conditioner twice a week. I wash my hair every other day, sometimes 2 because it's wavy, and I hate having to blow dry & iron my hair everyday.

If you guys can give me some advice as to what shampoo is good for that, and how I can take this static out of my hair. By the way, I'm on a budget, maybe $50 for shampoo & conditioner.

Thanks girlies

I dont think you need to do anything dramatic.  Your hair can still be dry regardless of climate.

If you like your shampoo and conditioner routine, then just add some type of leave in conditioner or some type of serum like moroccan oil or argan oil before you blow dry it/straight iron it... and apply it liberally afterwards or inbetween washes.

Welcome to MUT!

Is there a leave in conditioner you suggest? And for serum, I used to use Difiaba Luminessence Shine Drops, but I ran out and that runs pretty steep for a little bottle, but it lasted & worked. Anything you know of similar or that works just as well?

It doesn't help if I'm always coloring my hair? Highlights, toner, etc. I've decided I'm letting it grow completely, too much maintenance for me to be getting my hair done every 3 or 4 weeks. I just figured that wasn't helping my hair out at all.

These are the only products I have used and can vouch for:

I have very thick, course black hair and I swear by either of these products.

The prices vary, but the products last and have value added.  A little goes a long way.

Mine too! I always suffer from static-y hair in the winter, but lately mine's been acting up too... I will definitely have a look @ The moroccan oil, I've heard many things about it int he past but have never actually checked into it for myself.

Try rubbing a Bounce sheet into your hair, after it is dry - sometimes that is all you need to do.

Oil or silicon heat protectors. Also when you're almost done blowdrying your hair, blow some cool air to finish your style (i think nowadays all blowdryers have that option). It adds shine and sets the hair, so you get less static.

same hear I even I have the same prob and worst is I have waist length hair it becomes even more difficult. I will try the argan oil..

That happens in the winter to me. The Moroccan oil works really well. I have that stuff and it's really good.

I'll have the try the Bounce sheet.

I went to Ulta this weekend and bought Orgnaix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo, conditioner, and penetrating oil. So far so good, not so static-y hair, and it smells delicious. My mom saw my hair was better, so she went out and bought a bottle of her own. Haha. Thanks for the help guys.

& I'll keep you posted about the Bounce sheets. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Make sure you run a bounce sheet over all your combs and brushes as well, before using them.
