Hello Everyone,

I have a friend who is just 23 years old and she has got many white hair.

Just don't understand what could be the problem with her.

Is she missing out something in her diet?

Thanks!

Is there a family history of premature greying? If your friend is concerned about her underlying health she should consult her family doctor.

I started going grey in my bangs at 15 or 16 years old.  At 33, if I didn't color my hair my bangs would be totally white and the rest salt and pepper.  Never really bothered me, especially since I dye it all the time anyways.

I agree with the ladies.

23 is not that young to start going grey.

She could have a relative - not necessarily a parent - that also went grey at an early age.

I doubt that diet has anything to do with grey hair, regardless of the age of the person going grey.

In my mom's side of the family, the women start greying in their mid twenties to early thirties starting right above the ears. Hopefully I get my dad's genes on that bc he's 47 and just this year started greying a little.

I've read that Copper in vitamin supplements may help slow down or reduce the number of grey hairs you get.  It can also be genetic.  I had grey hairs when I was 4 and then they disappeared and they reappeared when I was in my mid 20's.  Many people have grey hairs, it's just more noticable when your hair is darker.

Yes she is also tensed as her parents didn't grey in their 20s.

I also think she should consult the doctor soon.

Thanks everyone!

I doubt that it's anything to be worried about. I'm 27 and a friend noticed my first grey hair recently

im 21 and i have grey hairs. it runs in my family for premature grey hair. i started getting grey in the 7th grade and would dye my hair so that noone would notice, its not bad but i dont like it!

YES!!!!!! Deficiency of vitamin B-12 in the diet is also one of the reason behind graying of hair. but it is not necessary that it is the only reason. It might be the stress and tension from which you are currently suffering that is causing gray hair.
