 and ..it smells great..

Coconut oil is the best, you can found it at any whole food stores! If it is hard put it in the microwave for a minute then apply it to your hair and leave it all night!

Sounds like Alterna's first 3 ingredients are types of silicon.

In terms of shampoo, conditioner and styling products - I can't get enough silicon.

Conditioning my hair prior to shampoo, I love coconut oil.

However, lots of other oils such as olive oil, advocado oil, and almond oil are great for hair as well.

hi  may be  these oil gave  some better  effect  to  some people's  hairs but i really don't found any oil's effect  on my hair.. my  hairs are  very thin  and  dry :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />   please  if some one   know  about oil which can  make my  hair thick   than tell me..  thanks in  advance...

Hi Ketti,

What works for me is the following:

I saturate my dry hair with coconut or olive oil

Cover my hair with a towel

Let the oil seep into my hair for an hour

Wash my hair with shampoo - I need to shampoo twice to remove all the oil

Condition as usual

Style

I notice my hair feels soft and more managable.

You could always add 1-2 tsp of oil into your conditioner, rather than applying the oil before shampooing.

Experiment with different oils or you could even combine a few

I do the same thing as above. Rub cobnut oil in my my hair, let it sit 45-60mins and wash it out. You will need to shampoo twice, it leaves your hair soft and shiny. It is also all natural. Give it a try.

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment. It's in liquified balm form (imagine sticky toffee pudding) in the pot, but you take it into your palms, emulsify it an into an oil, and apply it to hair.

When I had long hair I used the same procedure described by dragonfly but with  olive oil and it worked pretty good but I never liked the smell. During a trip to Sri Lanka I picked up some Monoi oil at the airport and it was fantastic! The smell was divine and the hair was shiny and soft after. This was 3 years ago though and I do not remember if the oil had a name but I would repurchase just for the lovely smell!

It's just called monoi :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> It's my favorite hair oil. It's a traditional product from the Pacific islands like Tahiti, and it's made of Tiare flowers macerated in coconut oil. The scent itself is a trip to paradise

. The longer it macerates the more it smells divine, so when it's mass produced they might add some fragrance. Just make sure it's just made of coconut oil, i've noticed some brands cut it with other fats.

It's easily found in any supermarket in my country, just ask if you want some :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Coconut or olive oil are best for hair. And apparently are the only 2 with small enough molecules to penetrate the hair shaft.

Camelia oil is also interesting for its high content of Omega 9. But it's really expensive, i think more expensive than monoi. I occasionally buy a sample because i love it, and it really helps giving more strength to your hair ; the scent is very pleasant too but i'm a tea junkie so that's probably why :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I really love Moroccanoil, it smells amazing and isn't too heavy so it won't weigh your hair down. I put a little bit on before I blow-dry my hair and it cuts down on my drying time and then I apply a little to my hair after it's dry to add shine and smooth any fly-aways or frizz.

I currently use Weleda Rosemary hair oil and love it. I've also used camellia oil and argan oil and liked them both.
