Hey guys and gals!

My hair is super fine and super thin!!! It wont do anything but just stick flat to my head and look ugly! Does any body have any great products or tips to recomend?!

I use a root lifter on the crown of my head and I get lots of volume that way. Try Keihl's. A bit pricey but worth it.

Root lift product is a great suggestion. You could also try getting layers to make it look fuller, or try rollers near the top of your head for lift. If you'd like to post a picture we could probably help you more!

Personally Id say your lucky, be happy that you have cooperative hair! Id trade you my big spiral curls and all the work they take to have calm hair like yours!!

I have fine hair thats sort of thin, so I feel your pain! I always have my hair cut into longish layers, and try not to let it get *too* long (a few inches past my shoulders) and blowdry my hair with my head flipped upside down. So far the best volumizing mousse I've found is tresemme...and its only like $3. That helps a lot.

You could try teasing your roots for extra volume, but I dunno if thats practical for everyday.

I have this same exact problem so I feel your pain lol mine also gets frizzy and i dunno if its the cut or something but its like bushy at the bottom and flat on top so who knows but do u part ur hair down the middle or do u do a side part because I think the side part helps a little bit! Not really with volume but it just kind of breaks up ur face a little and looks better I think. Also in addition to root lifter try using a hairspray on the underside of ur hair after u blowdry ur hair and blowdrying with ur flipped over also helps! Good luck, let me know how it works for ya

Try putting it into a ponytail right on the top of your hair. You may want to do this overnight as you will look like a pineapple while it dries but it will make the hair dry with the roots pointing up so your will get good volume when you take it out.

I tried John Frieda mousse to lift the roots but it just made my hair feel horrible and weird on the top so I wouldn't reccomend that brand of mousse.

I was just about to post this question! haha

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I have really been wondering about this lately.

try to keep a short to midlength cut. longer hair tends to weigh down, making thin hair look even flatter. layers help add volume & create dimension. blow dry your hair upside down using a round brush. boar brushes are the best!

they're the kinds with the natural bristles, instead of the plastic ones.

a lot of mousses don't work, but some do. i second maysie on the tresemme mousse - it's a great product. i also liked the XXL volume mousse from garnier fructis! i've been thinking about switching over to a root lifter tho cause they seem to give more volume IMO. i've heard lots of raves for bigsexyhair products but haven't got to try them yet.

I have very fine hair as well and it breaks easily so it looks like I have a lot of fly always. Because my hair is so damaged I don't want to use too many products but unfortunately I have too so I try to only do it once or twice a week.

First I apply mousse to the roots only. Then I spray my hair with some heat protector and spray my roots with a root lifter. Then I use a larger roller brush and grab my hair in small sections a blow dry the roots the opposite direction of where I want my hair to fall. Then I finish up with some light hair spray.

My hair always looks better the next day. I try not to wash my hair for at least 3 days just a body shower. This helps not over dry my hair.

Try putting castor oil in your hair, Castor oil smooths the hair cuticle, adds moisture, makes hair more manageable and controls an oily scalp.

This is how I do it:

1. Apply Castor oil on the scalp and roots of your hair.

2. Cover it with plastic cap and wrap it over with a towel.

3. Let is sit over night.

4. In the morning, shampoo your hair and rinse it well, make sure there is no residue left on your scalp (it's a bit sticky if not well cleanse)

5. Do this once a week for 6 weeks and you will be amazed with the result.

I really love to start off towel drying my client's hair, then applying Paul Mitchell Heat Seal, then Paul Mitchell Quick Slip or Sculpting Foam! This really plumps up the hair strand before blowdrying! My client's also really love Paul Mitchell's Extra Body line!

You have to do right hair cut, go for a straight-across, blunt cut this looks really great. Use dry shampoos for the days you don’t wash your hair it renews oily, slimy hair and gives slight volume.
