freedom of speech and freedom of choice..........looks like majority of those ingredients are also found in many common household items. there are so many things in the world that can harm us..........we need not make a list.

Right your correct but who puts household cleaning stuff in our hair?

Here is an srticle from the associated press:

Hair is challenging to control as depicted by TV commercials. The Sunsilk line of shampoos and conditioners poke fun at poofing limp hair on the heads of women they claim need help. A color dot suddenly appears above their heads to represent the shampoo and conditioner that would best fit their hair type. In fact all the women in the Sunsilk commercial are seen going about their daily life with color dots above their heads.

With all the choices of shampoo and conditioner flaunted as the perfect product it all boils down to trying different ones to see which works for you. If you do find a good product the longer you use it the less effective it becomes.

Seeking answers might draw some to the use of plain soap and water. After all isn’t that what shampoo and conditioner is minus the fragrance, plant extracts, and added vitamins. Unfortunately, soap and water dries hair out. This could be good for someone who has oily hair and wants more volume and bounce.

People wanting fabulous hair have even used horse products such as Mane and Tail in hopes to get that soft silky manageable healthy look. It to appears to be working great and then it stops.

The solution to getting the hair you want could be lurking in the laundry room. It comes in a bottle labeled fabric softener. Liquid fabric softener to be precise. The fabric softener sheets wouldn’t work at all unless you soak out the fabric softener with water. The powder kind would also have to be dissolved before using. It’s easier to use the liquid brands.

Any shampoo will work with the fabric softener. The shampoo cleans the hair while the fabric softener makes it soft and easy to manage. It really works, but you have to be careful not to use very much because it will make your hair look oily.

OFF TOPIC but that is the reason we no longer use fabric softners because they flared up my daughter's eczema. since we can't not use laundry detergents, we go with something gentler.

I appreciate all tips even if it's not something I might try. There are all sorts of dual use products in the world and not all of them are good for us but I agree that what could trying it one time do that is any worse than bleaching, perming or constantly straightening your hair. BTW Aprill, I have a friend that has used mane n tail exclusively for 8 years and her hair is to the middle of her butt and it is beautiful but what works for one doesn't always work for another.

and further........is there much of anything we use these days that does not have a scary looking list of ingredients. How many of us live the truly all natural life? Unless you are growing your own food or making your own cosmetics, you are going to get something that you probably can't even pronounce in it.

One last thing for those that may not know. "chicken" is a word of endearment that Rosie uses. It is never meant to be rude and while she could have pointed it out herself, I decided to do it for her this time. Let's remember that the original poster was just sharing a tip which any of us have the right to try or not try.
