Yup! Believe it or not ladies. My uncle is a professional hair stylist (he's gay....you know they are the best at doing hair!) and he uses a little bit of fabric softener when rinsing his client's hair. I couldn't believe it but tried it anway just to see (i've also read about it on other beauty tip sites). Sure enough.....I had super super soft hair. I used a lot and ended up smelling spring fresh all day long. lol. Next time i'll use about a tablespoon or so instead.

I knew a girl who did that in high school. She had really gorgeous hair.

Considering the fact that fabric softener has chemicals in it ... how could that be good for the hair???

Fabric softener has the same stuff in it that Pantene does, so that is why Pantene makes your hair soft too. I wouldnt rec using it everyday as your hair will build up a coating, making it dull and heavy, but once in a while - why not! Awesome idea and it would smell great too!

i cant imagine him doing that, the effects have to be more damaging in the long run, not to mention if he is working at a high end salon than he is contracted to only use products by a certian company.

i would do some serious research before i put fabric sofftner on my hair. it softens fabrics by esentially wearing down the fibers chemicaly i dont know if i would want that done to my hair.

Your not even worried? Id be careful

hhhmmm interesting!!

I can't see it destroying hair and besides if someone wants to try it that's their choice. Like burning hot metal isn't hard on your hair or any of the other things we do to our hair....... to each her own!!!

This sounds interesting...I'd also be leery about this myself though since I color my hair.

you know i never really thought about it damaging your hair. i figure that if it makes it soft it can't be too bad??? and i was sure to rinse all of the product completely out of my hair. i can see how using it often can weight the hair down. i've only tried it once and it worked beautifuly. i would try it again but like it was said....i wouldn't do it too often.

I think once in a while it'd be fine. Certainly no worse than bleaching or straightening. I think I might try it.

thanks for posting Jasilinda
