I think you'd look good with dark hair !! (Both of you! lol) BUT... (yes, there is a but - lol) I would talk to a colorist first to see if you'd need a filler. Since you blondies lack pigment (some more than others... darker blondes usually won't need it) you might need to add to it before the dark color to help it last, and to get truer color. Best to ask first before doing the dark. Most times it'll be fine - but better to safe than disappointed ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Well I changed my appt. from today to tomorrow. Like Reese's hair, mine will not be strictly "brunette" and will have some red in it for warmth. I think Sarah's hair looks good either way..Andrea looks gorgeous as a blonde, but would also look stunning as a brunette. I think you should go for it Vanessa...Janelle can bail you out if it turns out not to your liking..but I think it would be an interesting change that you could keep for as long as you like.

C'mon..maybe we should both go tomorrow?!

Thanks for all the really helpful responses ladies you're so helpful as always!!

Sarah - I think you look fab as a brunette you look exotic and really tanned! But you also look gorgeous as a blonde too!

Andrea - I know what you mean about being scared - I am so scared and my hair is in such bad condition and is so weak at the moment that I'm scared what will happen lol!

I spoke to my auntie last night who is a hair dresser and has been for many years. She has her own salon too so I'm going up there next week for an appointment with her to see what she can do with it. She said that it's a big decision going brunette and that my other auntie regretted it and had to go back blonde again but her hair isn't how it was before. I've decided to go for a more golden dark blonde rather than the bleach blonde look because at least then my roots won't be too noticeable as my hair is a medium blonde naturally anyway.

Sort of like this:

because then it's darker but not too drastic and it will warm up my skin.

I look really washed out now it's gone sorta white!

Yeah I agree Nicky Hilton does look much better as a brunette.

I spoke to my aunt who did my cousin's hair from blonde to brunette and although it looked lovely she regretted doing it. I'm just scared and I think that by going darker blonde, a more golden natural sunkissed blonde rather than platinum is a better idea, that way at least I can get an idea as to how dark I think I can go plus I do like being blonde just not this platinum crap thats on my head at the moment lol!

I've got a school reunion tomorrow night too and I'm gonna feel so embarressed!

aww i think you would look great as a brunette. why not try a light brown color with some blonde tones/highlights in it? that's what i'm sportin right now and lovin' it!

I agree! I think you'd look great with a caramel color with blonde highlights, maybe start with that and then go darker if you like it. I don't think the darker brown would wash you out at all either. Brown hair and blue eyes are hot!

Bump!

Vanessa....how's it going? Did you get your hair done yet?

I (finally) got mine done yesterday! :smilehappyyes:

It was the first and only day we saw some sunlight here...

Raining again today...Blah! And for some reason I will only ever go

to a salon for a dye when I can see the color in natural sunlight.

At my request, the stylist used a semi-permanent line from L'Oreal

called ...Richesse. The line has 28 different shades/colors.

Since I already had highlights in my hair, I only needed one coat....

Well, I am really happy with this product and the color is gorgeous

and SHINY as heck! It (along with Redken EQ Shades) is what was actually

used on Reese in "Walk the Line".

You might want to ask your aunt about this product; it is semi-permanent yet gives the shine and color of permanent color.

I can highly recommend it!

I'm sure Janelle has heard of this line...

I've heard of it, but I'm not sure if its readily available in the US yet... I'm going to the trade show Sunday (hellooooo haul! lol) So I'll take a peek at the L'Oreal booth and see if they're promoting it yet ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

te he you're all going to laugh at me lol! I never went to get my hair done.... thing is now all the yellow has washed out it looks really nice!! I can actually see darker and lighter parts of my hair and it looks like I've had highlights so I'm just going to leave it to fade but I'm not going to bother with any more home colours. I'm going to the salon to get it done once this colour has faded! Thanks for all your help and advice though in my moment of trauma! lol!

Elisabeth I bet your hair looks lovely! I'd love to see a picture!

I love Redken Shades EQ! They make the hair soo shiny and soft! I'd love to see your hair! PICS!?

Three Words: No Digital Camera.

But wait, I could take a normal pic and send it to you snail mail,

come to think of it, couldn't I?:icon_scratch:

Gosh, why didn't I think of that before?

OK. But, I want to wait until we at least have

sun here again, as I don't like any pics taken

on cloudy, rainy, sucky days.

This should be in about a week and a half!

Janelle..Have fun at the show! and yeah, I guess this Richesse stuff is the new *it* for semi-perm. color. Dang that show sounds fun!:rocknroll2:

Vanessa, hey! As long as your happy with your hair....Mission Accomplished...not to mention the fact that your wallet is not any lighter!:icon_bigg
