Benefits of scalp massage?

I was watching a video on youtube, mostly because it's relaxing, but in the video the person was stating scalp massage helps growing long hair because it allows a greater stimulation to the scalp.

Now i know the relaxing benefits of a scalp massage but i'm wondering if there's truth in the other statement, whatever helps my hair !

I thought that hair length was pre-determined at birth.

I've allowed my hair to grow long several times.

Unfortunately, after the hairs grow to 16 inches, they always fall out.

I have heard that scalp massage is great for the scalp - very stimulating. But what the stimulation is doing is not clear to me.

It brings more oxygen to the scalp and a greater stimulation of the follicle. I'm sure this is important somehow but to link this directly to growing long hair, i'm just not sure
