Another dye question =)

My hair is black. Dyed it black for 13 years now. I am bored of it. My hair was very long at one point and just a few weeks ago I cut it all off into an angled bob. I didn't dye it for about 2 months before the cut and then decided to put this dark red on my roots. Now I'm stuck with hot roots. They are hard to notice unless I'm in the sun but I see them. I wanted to know how I can go about dyeing my hair a dark maroon red or a magenta pink (I have always wanted pink hair) and which color would be best. I am light skinned but can get very dark in the summer (if I try haha). I am so sick of the black and I know it is the hardest color to get out of hair but I am willing to take a few risks with this because I am a person who isn't afraid to take risks and enjoy different styles and fashions(that I can pull off). Please leave me any knowledge or experience you can light this subject with. Greatly appreciated ;-) !!

Stripping black dye out of hair is one of the hardest things to do.  I would really recommend you see a stylist who specializes in color to do it because honestly not every stylist is a great colorist.  It is going to take someone who really knows what they are doing.
