Would a box blonde dye work on brown hair? On the back of them it sometimes shows your natural color and the result, and most they seem to lighten, Id prefer to do it myself but which are the best dyes to use, Alot of my roots are really grown out and I havent dyed it in months, would it be safe to try, I really want to go all blonde

I really like L'oreal...I have dyed my dark blonde hair to platinum twice and both times I used L'oreal Ferria(sp?)a color called Starlight. It was a while ago so not sure if they still make this shade but they do make the same kind and really comes out well, with very subtle highlights in it even, and completely but naturally looking transformed my much darker hair to very light

If your hair is medium to dark brown, don't do it! The drug store dyes are not for that. I tried it on my dark brown hair and it turned yellow and orange. Believe me, it will trip you out to rinse that color off and see orange.

If you want to go all blonde go to a stylist and have it done. Brown hair must be bleached (color removed) to get to blonde. Blonde is not a color, it is the removal of color.

Box kits don't have strong enough developers for dark hair going blonde

Lightening hair is very risky, espeically if you have long hair that you cherish (like me)... try a hairdresser, but if you are on a tight budget do it gradually, with lots of streaks until you get it right...
