Will it ever be possible for me to have bangs?

I've always wanted bangs. But my hair doesnt call for it. I have veryyyyy thick, frizzy curly hair. On a good day it behaves. Most of the time it's out of control. I know a girl who has bangs and has curly hair but her hair is finer and easier to manage than me. But when she straightens it it looks so good. Also, when she wears them curly she kinda lets them go to the side and it looks really cute as well.

Im trying to grow my hair out also. I wouldnt get bangs until it was longer..and hopefully less poofy by being long again. I duno. Ive always wanted them. Whats your opinion? Is it impossible for my hair? Heres some pictures I just took, hairs still wet, and poofier than ususal, not gonna have a good hair day today.

I tried to find pictures of girls with curly hair and bangs..and I had no luck.

If they dont work naturally you can always straighten them. Start off with them long and see if it behaves. If you like it try going a little shorter at a time. And if you dont like it, you won't have to deal with the grow out phase for quite as long.

first off, I love love love your nose ring. When you're wearing a darker shade on your lips it really makes it pop and looks really pretty.

My hair is a thick, frizzy, and a little looser than your longer hair pics. I wouldn't get too short of bangs because the cowlicks are a pain. Maybe a sideswipe that sits at your cheekbone when curled but longer if it's straighter.

The only bangs that I have seen on curly hair have been straight. I do not like it when the entire head is curly and then they just straighten the bangs, do you know what I mean. I love your hair. I would not touch it.

Wow you looked really beautiful with your nose ring and longer hair. You still look beautiful just in a different way. You rock both looks for sure.

I dont kno if you'll be able to have bangs unless you straighten your hair everytime, which is really damaging and I guess not good if you cut it to help with damage in the first place...

I have really curly hair too, curlier than yours I think, so if we can pull off bangs Id love to know how too, I really like bangs too, but its for those sexy girls with straight hair.

Sorry I couldnt help

Oh and I gotta agree with Bexy that when a girl with really curly hair has straightened bangs in the front it does look weird...

i swear though this girl i know looks soo cute with her curly bangs. every pic i look up online looks ugly though.

this would be my hair, in a perfect world. i love it.

Just to let you know you kinda look like kelly clarkson. Trust me thats a good thing so dont get mad.

you're so cute that way !!

straightened bangs with curly hair definitely look ugly. more than bangs i woudl suggest you keep a sidesweep and maybe cut your hair shorter (like grown bangs).

i had bangs when i was younger, and i hated it. my hair's thin so it can look tousled easily (lol some parts even become curly !). everyday i had to comb and brush my bangs until they were smooth and straight looking. and i had an oily forehead, so i also had to wash them on a daily basis. ugh. good riddance.

I'm a naturally curly girl with bangs. According to naturallycurly.com typing, I'm sort of a 3a-3b - so that's thick (like major thick) with ringlets that have strong formation. My hiar isn't super curly - not like corkscrews, but it IS incredibly stubborn. My hair stylist can't even make it look smooth and straight and shiny.

ANYWAY, what I'm getting at is that it is possible to have bangs AND curly hair, without going the straight all the way all the time route.

I wet my hair in the am, then I just use snap clips to tuck the long bangs (cheekbone length when dry, almost chin length when wet - that's some shinkage for you!) to the side. After a couple of hours I unclip them, then fluff my whole head. The bangs aren't stick straight, they softly wave and blend nicely with the curls and ringlets. And when I put my up or back, they still look nice and soft.

In your dream pic, the girl has lovely, perfect, curling iron ringlets - a great look, but to me, lots of work to achieve. I'm not skilled withthe styling tools, though.

Oh, and i can do second day hair, when I don't wet my head, just shower and wash my face, then use a blow dryer for a couple of minutes just on the bangs to direct them where I want - works well.

Just remember a couple things:

Think LONG bangs. Bettie Paige style short ones aren't going to work well on curly hair without LOTS of styling. Bridge of nose, cheekbone, chin, etc. NOT eyebrow length, even when dry.

Side swept are easier to style than the ones that come straight down. Part of this has to do with training the hair, since it seems most curlies have pushed the front hair to the side (otherwise you couldn't see out, could you?)

They should not be cut blunt at the ends, but rather tipped - the scissors need to go in vertically. Otherwise, depending on how poofy your hair is you can end up with a ledge. (mine's very poofy, not silky and swingy. Healthy, but really definite about what it is)

Hope this helps - I added my bangs about a year ago, and I'm really glad I did. Decided my forehead was just too high and uninteresting to NOT have bangs!

I have no idea because I have no experience with curly hair, but I just wanted to say you look really pretty in all the pics! Especially the first and fifth one!

I'm not going to be able to help your question at all. I'm just mad at you right now because you're so damn pretty and I'm jealous, lol. I LOVE the long hair on you. If I could have long curly reddish hair, and such pretty eyes and eyebrows and look so pretty and fresh faced like you, then I could die happy.

grrrr

OMG, I lovelovelove your hair long and curly!!! It looks so gorgeous! And I didn't know you used to have a nose piercing, LOL. I like the look of it on you

Personally, I don't think you need bangs... your hair already looks awesome without them, especially when it was longer! You have a smaller forehead and I think bangs might crowd your face too much. That's just my opinion, though... I know you still want them. LOL. Sorry I can't give you any tips, my hair isn't really curly, just a tiny bit wavy, and my bangs just dry straight on their own.

eyebrows! nobodys ever called my eyebrows pretty before, theyre so messed up! thank you kaylin haha.

it's funny when I got my hair cut everyone liked it better but you guys say it looks best long and im growing it back out anyways!

i loved all the compliments, makes me feel good. thank youu <3
