Where for cut and tips

Alright so I need a quick and cheap fix because I'm tired of my old hairdresser giving the same boring look even though I ask for a different cut everytime. So I'm in a hurry and I've decided between Supercuts and First Choice haircutters. I'm not sure if any of you are familliar with these places but which would you suggest, their prices are about the same. Also how much should I tip (I know the 'normal' amount varies for all of us but which is the lowest but still acceptable amount since it's my first time there)?
