i used clairol born blonde maxi to bleach my hair and it did a pretty good job except its too golden for my taste (i have no damage) the color is like a lemon lol

it says in the instructions i can add a toner, but what the heck is a toner?

does that mean i just buy a box of permanent hair color in the shade i like?

id like to be more of a beige blonde but not too ashy

You could do that... but a toner usually isn't as 'bold' as a color. It will alter it, but just change the tones of what you have, so that your new color isn't a total waste. Check out Sally's... they have lots of different toners, and maybe one of the girls there can help you find a good shade to tone it down a bit

Ok this is my knowledge on toners. A toner is usually like a whiteish to purplish stuff (dont know what else to call it, its not really dye) That evens out blonde hair it was made to take out the orange brassy colors in blonde hair. I have only ever used one and that was i believe called white snow or virgin snow by Manic Panic. It has worked very well for me when i have used it. Where i am from they sell Manic Panic at Sallys, spencers gifts, hot topic. You just put this stuff in your hair like dye for like 15 mins and than wash it out and it can be repeated as neccesary and manic panic actually has alot of good stuff in it mostly natural stuff rather than tons of chemicals. hope this helps some

my hair is way too golden it looks silly, kinda like vitamen C lol

the top of my hair had about a 2" of my own growth and that area came out white!

the areas where i covered up the brown hair dye is the orangy yellow area, but unfortunetely its about 80% of my head. my hair is long 4" past my shoulders

maybe a toner isnt strong enough then? since i do need more of a "color"

i was looking at loreals beige blonde and light ash blonde, would this do the trick?

i dont wanna go from orange to green
