OK, ladies! Would love to get your thoughts on my hairstyle. This is what it looked like in July:

SmugMug - Cassandra (Cass) : Cole and Morgan 12 -14 months : My little boy is all grown up!

It is longer now (not quite shoulder length) though still blunt and the bangs are a bit longer too (almost too long). I am getting a trim on Sunday (it has been 4 months since I got a cut). I would really like to keep the length but am wondering what to do in addition. Should I keep the bangs? I was thinking of making them a bit bulkier, not quite wispy. What do you think?

Also, to make it a bit more interesting, what do you think about some layers around the face? I still need to keep most of it blunt (I think my hair looks best this way) but would love to hear your thoughts.

Also, if anyone can give me an idea on how to post a picture, I would appreciate the help. I would like to insert a pic right into the posting, but I think the file size was too big. Can someone walk me through this?

Thanks!

Cass

I dunno about the blunt bangs , I think your bangs look nice on the photo. The only thing I can think of to keep the length but change the style is layering .

Sorry I'm not much help. Maybe Janelle can help here .

I like it. Thats how I had my hair before, its short on the back and long at the front right?

Janelle, Janelle, come out, come out, where ever you are!! Need your advice.
The only thing is that it is so hard to get my bangs to stay "side-swept" like that. My bangs are thin, and seem to "separate" easily. And I agree about some layering, though I need to be careful about doing too much because my hair can look easily damaged with too much layering (frizz at the ends) which is why I always seem to go back to a blunt cut.

Janelle...advice, based on this type of hair?

I would go for some subtle layers, blending into your bangs... Have you tried using a cute clip or even bobby pins to keep the bangs side-swept? That might work...

That might work... I use a clip when I am at home to keep the bangs off my face, but at almost 40 years old, I guess I feel a bit silly leaving the house with my bangs clipped back.
Plus, I would like to find a way (maybe someone can recommend a product?) to keep them side swept on their own, without the need for a clip?

Thanks for the help!

That's the same cut I had when my hair was shorter and you're making me miss it even more! I love it and it looks great on you!

Yeah, I liked it when it was a shorter bob, but honestly, taking care of 2 babies, I like the option of being able to put my hair in a ponytail, so having a longer blunt cut is the direction I am going in right now.

I agree w/ what Aquilah said. I have the same problem with my bangs also. If you wanted to keep the sideswept bangs, you could use some wax or styling cream. It helps a lot with my bangs and when I need my bangs out of my face I just have to go with a clip or bobby pins, thats kinda the downside of having the sideswept bangs. I let mine grow out a little bit longer so they fit behind my ears when I put my hair in a ponytail. They seem to stay better when I leave my hair down now. When you use wax or styling, a little goes a long way, otherwise your bangs could look greasy!

Thanks everyone! I think I will try some subtle layers around the face and keep the bangs, maybe get them back to the length they were in the picture. I really just don't think I look good without bangs...too harsh on me!

I'll let you know what happens, and if someone can guide me through posting a thumbnail picture within the thread, then I will send you a picture of the new cut on Monday!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone! But I would really like to know, where the heck is the hair guru, Janelle????? I thought for sure she would want to weigh in on this one!!!
