How many samples were there? Are they all different? I'm so curious to see what they will send me. I filled out that questionare pretty in-depth. I am hoping that I like the products because I have been wanting to go to this type of skincare products. The kind that are geared towards my skin and skincare needs. That is an interesting type of sample. I hate when there is stuff left that you can't get. I've gotten little squeeze tubes before that were almost empty so much so I couldn't squeeze any out to begin with so I had to cut the tube open at the other end. I have had my post duplicate and more (6 times one time) I wish there was a way to delete your own posts when that happens.
there were 10 samples all together...just a few repeats whicch was good because there really isn't a whole lot in the tubes I would say most of them were about one fourth full. I received 2 diff cleansers. 2 pressed coconut oils, 1 eye serum, 2 spf cover 30, 1 toner, and 1 of the skintanagble foundaation samples. That's the best I can remember right now.all and all a great sample pckage!

same here! I don't use any much skincare stuff (bad, I know) but I know my grandma and mum would both love to pick one up, and I wouldn't mind snagging an extra for them. It seems like all the stores doing this in Texas are all in the DFW area, bummer. Shame I don't still attend university in Dallas!

FYI Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day soap is a sister company to Caldrea. I emailed both Caldrea and Mrs. Meyer's and received several samples from both!

Slightly unrelated, but have any of y'all placed orders/requested samples where they offered a subscription to In Style magazine? I got one in the mail today and I'm not a subscriber, so I'm wondering if I missed unchecking something when I placed an order.

EDIT:

wellllll it looks like Ulta is pulling that stupid crap again where they give your payment info to various magazines and charge you for a subscription and hope you don't notice. I am NOT happy with this. I can't reach the stupid company InStyle wants me to contact and I'm currently in the process of composing a sharply worded email to Ulta.

I just make a point of telling them at checkout I don't want it whether they ask or not. Only had to happen one time. I hate getting bills in the mail for magazines I don't even read or want.

What?!?! Dang, I just signed up with Ulta for their 21 Days of Beauty. Thankfully I only shopped in-store and paid cash. Guess I'll be sticking with Sephora!!

I've only ever been asked if I wanted a (paid) "trial" once and that was months ago - I said no and paid in cash. I'm assuming this subscription happened within the past month. I'm not even sure yet what card they charged yet as I've been 3 times, my parents treated me twice, once with a reusable prepaid credit card and once with their joint card, and I used my own card once. We'll figure it out tomorrow since it's already 6PM here and probably nothing would be able to be done until tomorrow anyways. They NEVER asked me if I wanted any sort of subscription, which is why I'm even more pissed - in what world is it okay to give out a customer's payment info WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT? Did they think I wouldn't notice the random magazines arriving in the mail or the charges?

I'm absolutely furious. They did NOT have my permission to release my payment info and I sure as heck did not ask to be subscribed to basically 200 pages of ads each month! I can't believe they think they can get away with this crap - we all may miss a one time charge on our cards once in a while but how would we not notice the magazines arriving?! The first thing I did when I got it was go online to see why I had received a magazine I have zero interest toward.

I have only shopped in-store as well! I've only ever placed one online order and that was way back in May. At least you're safe though, since you paid cash!

The "best" part? My monthly Ulta ad arrived today too. I was excited to leaf through it because it always sucks me in and I end up dropping  at least $50-100 there every month. The instant I found out they were behind my shiny~ new InStyle subscription, I tossed their ad in the trash.

Do you know that they charged you? Usually you get 3 free issues, then a bill in the mail.

I'm shown to be subscribed until September 2013. Regardless of being charged or not, I didn't accept the "free" issues either and I am not happy that my information was given out. Selling my address to other companies so they can send me ads I can toss into a recycling bin straight away is one thing, but making it so that I'm either charged immediately or eventually for something I never wanted or agreed to is just wrong.

That SUCKS. Glad you are going to get it straightened out! My sister was NOT legally old enough to get playboy, so my mom was NOT happy. Silly companies, they can't f*** us over, we NOTICE!

Ulta pulled this crap with me the one (and only) time I shopped there. I was using my card and they asked me if I wanted two free issues to InStyle magazine. I told them I wasn't interested and paid no attention to it. Imagine my surprise when several weeks later I get the magazine in the mail. I knew it was through Ulta so I called the store I went to and they told me everyone that uses a credit card gets the magazine automatically and I would have to deal with InStyle to fix it. I went online to check my bank account and they had already charged me for a year subscription. InStyle tried giving me the run around via e mail until I told them I would be notifying the BBB that Ulta and InStyle were running a scam operation. I then got the charge on my card reversed immediately. I haven't been back to Ulta since.

Ugh, that's ridiculous that they automatically forward our CC info to magazines whether we approve it or not. What the heck is the point of us saying no if they're just going to do it anyways and piss us off? If they actually gave us a REAL choice, they'd lose a lot less business (because I'm sure not shopping there again) and have much fewer complaints floating around on the internet. Thanks for letting me know the "magic words" that will scare them into reversing the charges if they send me on a runaround - InStyle already claims that I have to contact a third party magazine subscription place (ValueMags), which makes me wonder just how many places Ulta has given my payment info...

It's so dumb because they make PLENTY of money without scamming us. Corporate greed is astonishing.

That's weird, then I was going through this, I was dealing with InStyle directly. Maybe things have changed since this happened to me. If you go on their Facebook, I see some people complaining about this happening to them too.

My friend's husband works at Ulta corporate, I'll talk to her tomorrow to find out exactly what the policy is.

That is ridiculous! I spend a lot of money at Ulta (as I'm sure many of us do) and I have always just told them I already am subscribed to the magazines when they ask. It is a half lie, since I do get Allure, but I stopped getting InStyle months ago... I have never had a problem with getting charged (yet). I hope you get that worked out because that is not right at all.
