I've been coloring my hair since I was 18 (I'm 34). The only time I stopped was when I was pregnant 10 years ago, and then I just cut it all super short, and that was that. Now it's almost shoulder length, but it's colored very close to my natural color, so the roots aren't noticable at all. I'm heat styling my hair more now than in the past, and it's sooo dry and damaged, I need to take a break from coloring it and get it healthy again. What's stressing me out is all of the white hairs that are becoming more and more noticable! Since I've been continuously coloring it for 10 years, I never realized how gray I'm becoming. ACK!!!!! LOL

Just needed to vent. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I know what you mean! I got my hair highlighted a couple of months ago and it's so DRY... I am 35 and this is the driest my hair has ever been. Feel free to vent anytime!!!

I want to get my natural color in too! but my hair is pink  /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and my natural color is dark dark brown. So if I dye it back its going to be very fried and not manageable :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I feel your pain!

My best advice is to find a color as close to your natural color as possible. Color it the one last time with that, and then just keep up with regular trims. As the hair grows, the color shouldn't really change as much. That's what I had to do :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
