World-renowned hairstylist dies after heart attack at age 65

May 8, 2009- On May 6, at his Dallas, TX home, Toni&Guy co-founder Guy Mascolo passed away from a heart attack. Internationally known for the company he formed with his brother Toni, Guy was 65 years old at the time of his death.

The two eldest sons of a hairdresser, Toni and Guy Mascolo launched their eponymous company in South London in 1963. Guy eventually moved his home base to Dallas with brother Bruno in 1983 to support the fast-growing family business—and product line TIGI—outside of England.

Eight years ago, Toni, Guy, Bruno and Anthony Mascolo demerged their business. At the time of his death, Guy was chairman of Toni&Guy, USA.

Highly respected in the hairstyling world, family and friends also knew Guy as a compassionate man with a love of football, the guitar and painting. He is survived by four children, Guy Junior, Zak, Emanuella and Zara.
