Hi!

I am hoping someone can recommend products for thin, thin hair. I watched Nick Chavez on home shopping, but decided to see if anyone here has used his products or any products for that matter that actually do work. Thanks in advance for any help.

i have the exact opposite problem and i have no idea how to fix it (short of having it thinned by a pro). but welcome to mut!

Thanks for the nice welcome! I hope someone will be able to discuss the problem of thin hair with me. I know if your hair is too thick it is a problem for you, but be thankful you can have it thinned out. Mine is impossible and it is horribly embarrassing to walk around with your scalp showing!!!

there's hairstyles where it helps make your hair thinner. the japanese mastered that technique.

as for thin hair, i have no clue. i heard that bumble&&bumble thickening shampoo is pretty good.

Welcome to MuT! I'm Janelle from NY... nice to meet you!

My mom has all of Nick Chavez's products... she loves them. I haven't tried them, so I don't know how they would work on me to give a good review. I like BigSexyHair --- that seems to work for me... but if you want to try Nick's.... I would give it a try. My mom likes it a lot. Maybe just try one or two things first to see if you like it?

Bumble and Bumble is great! I have also used Nioxin, which I wasn't impressed with. I have fine hair and find that the shorter it is, the better and more full it looks (like a cute bob).

One mistake I see those with thin hair doing is putting layering in it. I'd agree with agilroy5001 about the cute bob (with NO layers), or even if it grazed the shoulder line, that ought to be fine. Once a former friend of mine with thin hair stopped cutting layers into her hair & getting it textured, her hair seemed much, much thicker. Also, she said the only shampoo/cond. she could use that didn't dry her hair out, yet didn't weigh it down was the john frieda (sheer blonde) shamp/cond.
