You are a gorgeous woman. I don't see anything wrong with being pale at all. I myself use to tan in the tanning bed in high school since then I haven't done it and don't really feel like laying out in the sun. I'm trying to find the best self tanner out there. I'm not looking to look like a carrot just a nice not over the edge tan!!

It's all personal preference but I don't ever think to myself "Gawd she is white". I am naturally dark (italian and cherokee) but get darker in the summer without even trying. I wear sunscreen on my face and I think I still look fairly young at 42. My daughter, however, is as pale as snow. You can see the difference in us if you look at my profile and I think she is super beautiful. She tried to tan before her wedding and it looked very un-natural. I appreciate a beautiful face and skin without regards to the hue.

I love the look of skin at both ends of the spectrum, it really does set itself above and beyond average people. I adore the perfect ebony smoothness of Alek Wek as much as admire the delicate porcelain translucency of Nicole Kidman.

You know the one thing I like about ultra-fair skin? It looks like see-though alabaster or white marble. The light peachy-pink makeup that I so love, also looks very good on fair white skin. I just can't really can't do justice when describing the beauty of porcelain colored skin, but I assure you, there are just as many people who appreciate you for how fair you are. It's just that those who want to change you are always the more vocal ones.

I empathize with you. I used to get snarky comments in high school for being pale. I will never apologize to anyone for having pale skin.

I hate it when people compare skin colors, I was working in a hairdressers once and there was a mouthy lass who wore fake tan and I admitt I wear fake tan but once I just couldnt be bothered and went in pale and she kept putting her arm against mine and laughing, so I just said to her "p. off with your fake tan" lol I hate being pale personally as I normally have been a nice glowy color, but I havent been on holiday for years so Ive just lost it and am completely pale so I feel odd without any color as I feel I cant pull off the pale look.

Some women look gorgeous pale though.

My friend recently annoyed me, shes been going on the sunbeds so much and has a great tan considering shes fair/pale and ginger haired and she kept going to me oh im so pale i need to be darker...

It doesnt suit her tanned and it fades too quick plus the amount shes using sunbeds its gonna ruin her skin. it does bore me how people are so obsessed with their skin color.
