Do you's have St tropez fake tan in the States?? it's really good stuff esp the st tropez spray tan

I go about 4 - 6 times a year, but I find that for me it's more therapeutic. Unfortunately, I've never looked in to safer ways of doing this. Kerry, your post was shocking! And I must say you look beautiful au natural! As with my post on pink, why can't people just accept what they are?

I've heard some talk about Lux Lights? What do you think about those, Kerry?

I don't really know what the difference is, I have only used the moisture tan. It worked well, so I never bothered switching. I really like it alot, hope you gals try it:icon_chee

Tanning is sooooo bad for you, I would never go on a sun bed. My Mum used to have her own in the 80s and was a total sun worshiper too, then yup, not atall surprisingly she got skin cancer 2 years ago. She's ok now but we wont know for another 4 years if it is totally gone and wont be coming back. It also means I'm more likely to get it, and if you have lots of moles then you're more likely to get it too. Even when I go on holiday or if we ever have a sunny summer I always wear sun lotion and build up a tan very gradually.

St Tropez is great, but expensive, I love Johnsons Holiday Skin, its a miosturiser with a bit of self tan in, it never streaks cos it builds the tan up over a few days of using it, and my skin is so healthy and glowing, plus it costs less than a fiver!

Tanning lamps use UVA rays- 2 to 3 times as much as in sunlight- because they're less likely to cause a burn. And now scientists recognize that UVA rays are worse than a sunburn. :icon_twis

THE ONLY "SAFE" TAN IN NON SUN TAN. USE SELF TANNERS + ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN W/ YOUR SELF-TAN. :icon_wink

I miss being tan. I used to use them wayyyy too much, I'm afraid. Stupid. Not worth it. Start paying attention to the older tan ladies you see. Their skin starts to look like old distressed leather! Now look in a fashion mag, see how many gorgeous fair-skinned models there are?

If you give in, at least cover your face when you bake and just use bronzer!

Uh, oh, sorry! Get ya some calendula lotion. This is the brand I use and have used for the past 8 years or so...

Click it

It's the best thing i've used for burns and keeps me from peeling. It doesn't smell too great but it works wonderfully well. The last time I went to Mexico, I fell asleep on the beach and woke up scorched. It was so painful and I swore I was gonna peel. Thankfully I had taken my calendula lotion with me so I kept slathering it on and I didn't peel at all. :icon_chee

Every now and then (usually in the winter) I'll go for couple of weeks just to even out my skintone.

I can't believe with all the info out there today that tanning salons are still in business....but then, look at all the people who smoke.

Tanning causes wrinkling and cancer. For some reason young girls think wrinkles are so far away in the future....well, if you take care of your skin they will be far away- if you tan, the wrinkle future will probably start in your mid thirties, maybe sooner. And you'll be lucky if ALL you get is wrinkles, I know a woman who had skin cancer on her cheek and they had to remove a big chunk out of her face because it went so deep.

DON'T TAN! It may look good now, but don't you want to look good for a long time, not just now????

Unfortunately I am working in the Tanning SALON, but I Dont tan so OFten like the other employees (ONce in a MONth and they tan 3 times a week) ;-P My BOSS is yelling at me because I am too WHITE LOL hehe

THat SUCKs that u have to be TAN while u working in such a place... so instead of using the normal beds I do MYSTIC TAN ... Thats my temporary Solution

It's not just the wrinkles that scare me about the sun ..it's the cancer ..that to me is worse than wrinkles! I'll stay pasty white also!

Yeah thats right. We have to remember to use a SUNBLOCK every time we're going OUTSIDE, cause the normal SUn is not healthy either :sadyes: ehhh

I go tanning a lot. I used to go every day when i was in highschool mainly because I liked the way it made my face look. My skin looked more even and I felt hotter with a tan body, lol. I don't go as often now (I just started to go this month) but in the mean time I'm trying to find a good spray on tan. Sephora sells one but the tan doesn't last more than a couple days for me.

Hmmm I would use them cuz im pale but, everygirl I know who uses them, after a few years their skin starts looking like a leathery boot :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> and thats the nicest way to put it...i would just use self tanner.

I go for a month in the spring to get a base tan, then I lay out occasionally in the summer. But I don't go year round or anything like that....I fear the damage. I get a lot of freckles too..so I cut off the facial tanner almost every time and use a facial bronzer instead so I don't look wierd. One of my friends would set up sessions at 3different places and she would lay 20 min. each...that's like an hour of tanning bed per day! Of course, she got skin cancer and had to quit!

I own a tanning bed and i must say I love it. I typically don't use it in the winter but come spring i use it to get a base tan and then i use the sun the rest of the time. I'm aware of the risks of tanning beds but that is with everyday living, so i say tan.:rolleyes1:

Stay away from tanning beds.

I worked in a tanning salon for a few years in the 80's when they were all new. Now I am 45, have had skin cancer on my forehead and have extensive hyperpigmentation on my face. I have not tanned in 16 years now. I wear sunscreen every day and still have brown spots on my face.
