My hair has always had a weird reaction to 99% of styling products. I have fairly long hair (two inches or so past my collarbone) and even if I use a teeeensy-tiny bit on the ends, my hair almost always gets this strange waxy/greasy look and feel to it, almost like it's wet even though it's not. Even the so-called "super lightweight" and "non greasy" products have this effect. I would just give up and not use anything at all, but my hair is pretty flat and blah on its own. Plus I get it colored and use heat styling so I want to use some sort of moisturizer/protectant.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way to remedy it? I've tried (i.e., wasted money on) soooo many products!!

Do your leave-in products contain alot of ingredients that contain silicones in them? Look on the ingredients label and see if any of the items contain the word "cone" at the end. You may have product build up if your leave-in contains these ingredients. If so you may want to use a clarifying shampoo and consider products that don't contain 'cones or use more natural products like oils. There are so many luxurious oils available that are multipurpose for skin and hair like Monoi oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, camellia oil, and tons more.

I checked and almost all of them have a "-cone" as one of the top ingredients (even the nicer ones I've bought at boutique hair salons.) Any suggestions for products made with natural oils? Thanks.

I agree with HairEgo. A clarifying shampoo really helps
