I have a major problem with the split ends on my hair and my hair drops A LOT.

See, i have extremely long hair, it goes all the way till my thighs but with that comes a huge problem which is split ends.Any product you girls recommend to solve this problem???its really horrid! All i want is long weightless looking hair without the extra mess of split ends all over.

I have the same problem. My hair is almost as long as yours.

I haven't figured out what to do with the spit ends.. Yet. What I can say is for the hair falling out, Take a vitamin! I use an over the counter daily pill. You can also eat Iron rich foods such as Beef, Shrimp, Turkey, Potato skins and Beans.

I hope this helps.

I heard that applying serum at the ends give the ILLUSION of having no split ends.

But the reality is that nothing will repair a split end, once it starts.

The best protection is to have ends regularly trimmed to prevent the split ends in the first place.

I agree with Adrienne, trim off the split ends.

Yes, a trim is the best way to get rid of split ends.

I would also suggest you check out Yes To Carrots' C is for shine conditioner, it's the best i've found.

You need to cut the hair off just beyond where the hair shaft is split. Otherwise the split will continue to travel up the hair shaft.

Thanks for the advice!

Well, seems like everyone agrees on trimming, its just that i have far too many split ends, am i supposed to cut all of it(the strands with split ends) off?oh my, bye bye long hair.

I used to have really long hair, and I had the same issues. My split ends were terrible. First off, I would trim them off. No product really gets rid of them once you have them.

Do you blow dry and flat iron everyday? If so, See if you can take a break from it. During the week when I don't really care what I look like I just put my hair in a bun with leave in condtioner. Also, wierdest thing....I have tried EVERY expensive and/or salon product and I really found that Dove worked best for me. Very moisturizing and does not weigh hair down at all. For the first time in my life, my hair is healthy! My hair is still long, but no longer down to my butt, but I did start using Dove when my hair was that long, and it felt so much healthier.

BTW- I don't really have split ends anymore!

Modirty80: Thanks so much!wow you dont have split ends anymore?then i should definitely use Dove products cos i too heard that its really healthy for the hair. Thanks again!

I just got an amazing product for split ends. It is BC Bonacure for colored ends and it works wonders. I don't have colored hair but my stylist says that it is the best product our there and prevents 80 percent of split ends! Definitely recommend it!

i have this problem too, sometimes i'm thinking maybe the shampoo could be too harsh.

Okay i am going to try that product, i'd rather do that then cut my hair off cos judging by the amount of split ends i have, cutting them off would mean weirdly thin hair.
