Does anyone know how to straighten hair with a curling iron?

I recently got my hair cut and it looks best with my bangs straightened.

My flat iron is a bit on the large size 2" x 3" and I'll burn my forehead with it.

So I was thinking of using a curling iron to straighten.

Thanks everyone.

Why not just get a 1" flat iron?

You can slightly SMOOTH your bangs with a curling iron, but they will have a dent like look to them.

I was thinking about that too, Gina. Do you think an inexpensive Conair will have enough heat to straighten?

Honestly, if your just using it for your bangs, get a cheapie. I've been seeing at Winners lately, the TIGI Flat irons which are a professional brand for only $25! I grabbed a 1" one...maybe check out your local Winners.

i know also hot tools makes 1" irons that work pretty well. and they are not expensive at all (i think they start around 25 dollars also)

I used to have bangs and really had trouble straightening them with a curling iron (would leave a funny bump near my hair line and a weird "pouf." I was actually testing hair tools for a magazine article I was writing and really really liked the Linea Pro Mini Flat Iron. It's $52 at HenriBendel.com but totally worth it.
