Sigh.

I got my hair cut into an inverted bob a few months ago and I love it. It's grown out a bit but still looks very good. The pics in my avie and on my profile pretty much show you how it looks now, they were only taken 2 weeks ago.

My problem is, I have no hair straightener and I cannot afford a good one anytime soon. Two friends of mine gave me old ones they had, but they do not work well. In the pics I have, another friend used her (very good) straightener on it.

Girls, this haircut just doesn't look good unless it's straight!

My husband says I'm just being weird and thinking it doesn't look good because the hair dresser said it wouldn't look good unless straightened. He think I should play around with it and see what happens.

What do you guys think? Have you ever seen anyone with my hair cut that didn't have straight hair? If so, do you by any chance have any pictures of these people? lol! My hair is naturally wavy/curly, btw . . .

Any suggestion on what I can try?

what about blowdrying with a round brush....... i can get my hair very straight that way....then use a smoothing serum

You can get some pretty awesome straighteners for cheap at Sally's. I actually have one that I spent $69 on and it is exactly the same as the Chi.

You can also round brush your hair or brush with a paddle brush as you dry. I've straightened my hair that way too.

Will it blow dry straight? Is there a way you can use clips or barettes to pull it back in a way that makes it look nicer?

I have a very short angled bob with curly hair. I specifically wanted to look like a flapper The Silent Flappers I love it! I'm using so much less product on my hair. Just a little something for the frizz.

Oh but when I say I'm broke, I mean broke! I bought one from walmart the other day for like 25$ but because our ex-roomate didn't pay us, I had to return it and buy dog food with the money instead. It will probably be a few months before I can afford one

I've done my hair with a round brush before but I don't really like the look of it . . . I straightening is the only thing that will keep the fuzzies down

Maybe I just need the right products, but again . . . no moolah =/

you can do a wet wrap..you wet the hair and wrap it around you head...(your head serves as a large roller) and pin it with wrap pins to get it to stay if you have a lot of hair...once dry, comb it down and it will be straight with a bend at the ends..
