You know when you see some girls with really poker-straight hair that looks heavy and has 'separation', almost wet looking but really just silky and smooth? -- how in the world do they do it?

I use a heat protectant in my hair just after washing it, I spray GHD flat iron spray while I'm flat ironing and finish with Biosilk. I get smooth straight hair, but just can't get that same look.

Is there a step I'm missing?

I have thick hair, slight wave to it but straightens easily.

all i can say is use hair glosser spray on it, such as Proclaim Olive Spray-on Glosser. it adds that sheen, and it smells delicious!

i'm not quite sure what you're talking about. can you post a picture?

maybe you think you have the same thickness of hair, but your hair strands are thinner and you just have more of them.

or maybe the cut you have is causing your hair to not get the "separated" look you're aiming for.
