Silk protein

I got some shampoo today that has Silk Protein in it. Does anyone know what this does for your hair? I'm looking for something that helps repair it. The shampoo I got is Champaigne kisses from VO5.

its gimmicky, in my opinion....protein treatments are meant to make you hair stronger, but you would need a treatment that stays on, not rinsed right off in a shampoo.....if your problem is hair that is breaking easily, then you want to restore moisture, which protein actually saps moisture from the hair

i thinnk its purpose it to keep your hair healthy and shiny!

My hair doesn't break off much, I just want something to help prevent that because I got a bad cut and am trying to grow it out.
