But- one thing I have made a point of doing lately, is every time I get something new- like a sample or something, I take out another sample to actually use and not just hoard. I also put together travel-bags, so I'm ready to grab and go (And then the samples HAVE to get used =p)!  If I have acquired a new makeup thing that is comparable to another thing that is already open, I try to use that new pretty as a reason to use up the open thing. lol. I'm trying to not be such a hoarder....trying.

One thing I have wanted to do is get one of those magnetic boards and put some pretty/commonly used stuff on that...idk why, just looks neat to me. Plus it would clear out some drawer space
I really like your travel bag idea. i have more samples than i know what to do with... i'm considering having a "rummage sale" for friends where they can come and take whatever samples they want. i'm not sure i have friends who would even want anything tho... most of my real life friends aren't makeup obsessed.

Short rant here:  Why even bother releasing it if only 200 are available?    I had to hit Blissworld, Beauty.com, Ulta and BeautyBar to get things that Sephora had in short supply.   I'm not jumping through hoops to get a product.   These will be available again - what is the point?  Limited to a first run of 200?

They sent an email to rouge members saying they get first dibs but there's only 200, I took that to meant that only 200 people get to have first dibs before it's launched to everyone else

I am a Rouge Member - it's was a run of 200 which is a pointless run in my mind.  The email didn't fill me with a burning need to rush to Sephora - it annoyed me.   Nice color but I haven't tried Sephora / Pantone lipstick and it would've been a better thing to just send out a mini rather than sending me an email for a product that was sold out.  My response was to empty my shopping cart and order the products I had in there from Nordys along with the world's cutest cat flats.    

I'm not bashing Sephora but this holiday season they really fell below the standards set by other companies.    This stunt is just more of the same - limited supplies don't imply exclusivity they infer a lack of planning.

It might very well be a supply issue or poor planning.  However, I highly doubt it.  That's quite a bit of work to try and clear 200 products.  I think it was strategic and planned.  It's likely a product teaser run to deterimine or forecast demand for 2014.  Wet the appetite, beta run, etc... 

I'm sure they've metrics in place, a measured run of a new product if you weill.  If the 200 go like hot-cakes in X time  then maybe they'll pull the lever and green light their contract manufactuerer to go ahead and mass produce in X's predetermined quantity vs. if they sell okay say in Y time then Y's predtermined quantity get produced or not at all if no one is buying the marketing campaign and think the color is meh...

Yeah they are creating a hype, it's old school and has been done until the cows come home with stocks and any other commodity, of course they do run the risk of displeasing some potential clients.

Oh I don't doubt that there are metrics in place and the strategy.  The problem with doing it with a product that they are going to sell is that there is no "Wow" factor, to being one of the only 200.   The color is not going to be unique, I can't imagine no one else is going to bring out an Orchid this year - so meh.      I'm cranky today.

– Clinique acne solutions foils (meh)

– Korres anti-aging eye primer (I'll try it!)

Was hoping for the Shiseido mini but not bad overall, I guess.

Ooh, they've added some new sale items. I hope the Tocca solid perfumes are still in stock come 12/25. Hey I don't know if anyone noticed but one of the free samples to choose from is the Glam Glow Very Sexy Mud Mask - 0.17 oz size.  Been wanting to try this for a while now.  I might just get something to get me to the $25 mark for one of the merry mini sample plus this Glam Glow.

I went into sephora today to pick up my MUFE foundation with the voucher and I asked about my caking Hourglass Icon Lippie and showed the SA pics too. I wasn't looking for a replacement (and I didn't get one) but the two SAs/MUAs were totally perplexed! I told her that I exfoliate regularly and I wasn't wearing any lip balm. One SA told me that that's exactly what she does and she was confused. Another SA told me I had to wear balm underneath... They were both really confused as to what happened with my poor lippie!
