@elizabethrose, you are such a sweetheart..I've noticed so many of your posts lately include ideas for your roommate's stocking and I think it's amazing your putting so much thought and effort into making her gift special...love that!

That's so weird! I tried mine once and had no problem with it, I had to work really hard to scrub it off before I went to bed! Did you by any chance have a lip balm on before you applied it? That's the only thing I can think of other than you getting a defective lippie that may cause that.

Nope, my lips were dry and balm free. It applied very thin and patchy too. Like it looks like one solid velvet color in the pic but it definitely is not! I'm pretty disappointed. It took a couple of applications to get it to that solidish color. That could be why it's so messed up though

That's so weird! I tried mine once and had no problem with it, I had to work really hard to scrub it off before I went to bed! Did you by any chance have a lip balm on before you applied it? That's the only thing I can think of other than you getting a defective lippie that may cause that.

Hmm. Meh. I have sooo many lippies that I'm kinda on the fence about whether or not it's worth complaining. I also got it in the Give Me More lip set. I don't have a receipt to show for it or anything/have already done a few returns without receipt this year.

Does anyone have thoughts on the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Icon lippie? I just put some on when I was playing around and I loved it but I realized it looked patchy? After I took this pic i pressed my lips together (it was very much "dry" at this point) and all the color from my top lip just transferred and caked itself onto my bottom lip..

I'm willing to bet some of these come back in stock for the $39... too bad I bouGHT TOO MANY PALETTES in the last few months to justify this. $40 is still a lot, even though they're beautiful (but the Cinderella one is lovelier)

ooh so you have the teeny little one too. Yeah, imo it's definitely a harder decision to make when it's sample sized and part of a set. My KVD liquid lipstick from that set had leaked a little and was crusty but I didn't say anything to CS about it. It's a good thing that both the formula and colour of the Hourglass lippie is very dupeable.

I just went and looked at the Cinderella palette – holy moly that is gorgeous. (I mean, I knew it existed, I never paid attention though). Compared the three princess palettes and the cindy one is definitely my favorite. DANG, wish I paid more attention this year haha!

Aww!  Thank you girl!  I really do appreciate it! 

 It helps that my roommate is also my best friend so, we are a little extravagant with each other when it comes to Christmas!

Okay so the Opaque Icon is my go to lipstick for most things - riding, trekking through the Alaskan Wilderness hoping that MrKitty and the Boy both get eaten by a bear for dragging me into the wilderness. Icon is my color. In fact, when I realized I'd left my makeup bag in Atlanta once we'd landed in Seattle before going to Alaska - I went to Sephora to pick up a Icon and Empress and everything else at Nordstrom. The only issue I've found and oddly never on me is that if your lips are too dry Icon can look sketchy. This is the least moisturizing (meaning NONE) lippie out there. I would try it with a good lip primer or lip treatment first. The girl wears it with eve nom kiss mix when she steals it from purse. It really should come with a THIS LIPSTICK IS HOT BUT IT'S DRY warning. This winter I've been wearing it with the Hourglass Femme Rouge for a different look. D Edited because I've had no coffee and my cats spent the night putting together an all girl Einsturzende Neubauten tribute band.

Most of my makeup collection is buried somewhere in my room right now but these are the 3 lippies I had lying around that looked the most similar to the Hourglass (no flash, indoor lighting)



L-R: Hourglass Icon, Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in #107, the LMDB lipstick from the August sub box (it was unreleased then, not sure if they've named and released it yet), and Stila Liquid Lipstick in Beso. The Rimmel and LMDB are a bit darker, but all 4 are really similar on my purplish lips.

So here's what I had in my makeup case - yes, I really am this one dimensional, that would be dupes for color.   Texture wise or stain wise... I'll have to get back to you - I would say KVD ELL in Outlaw but I know I have a couple of other that are good dupes.
